IATA join hands with Civil Aviation ministry

World airline trade association IATA (International Air Transport Association) joins hands with Ministry of Civil Aviation and Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University(RGNAU), to strengthen human resource possibility over India’s aviation industry. Smallest mini PC launched in India

Elitegroup Computer System, a Taiwan based electronic manufacturing firm, has launched the smallest Mini PC named Liva Q in India for a price of Rs 13,500. Named as Liva Q, the company claims it as the smallest Mini Personnel Computer ever launched. The device weighs over 260 grams and measures 70 x 70 x 31.4mm. Dubai gears up for Xyoga

Dubai’s biggest yoga festival, holistic events and entertainment for yogis and complete beginners alike, will be conducted from 16-17 March.  The two-day event will see yoga sessions and classes running all weekend, from sunrise until sunset, taught by local and international yoga teachers. One of the international yogis taking part will be Tao Porchon-Lynch, who at 97 holds the Guinness World Record for being the oldest yoga teacher in the world. Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Suresh Prabhu inaugurated the 33rd edition of ‘AAHAR 2018’, a 4-day event on International Food and Hospitality at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Bangalore-based Indian online taxi service Ola has started their new chapter at Sydney in Australia. The company had started their successful service at Perth in February. The State Disaster Management Authority of Kerala has directed the government to enforce a fishing ban after the India Meteorology Department warned of rain, squally winds and rough sea conditions and extended its advisory for fishermen. The Chief Minister’s office has directed District Collectors to disseminate the weather warning to fishermen. Japan launches tsunami-proof floating hotels

With an aim to protect the travellers from the natural disaster, Japan has recently launched tsunami-proof floating hotels, designed to protect its inhabitants from a sudden tidal influx. The spherical capsule hotel was launched at the Dutch-themed park, Huis Ten Bosch, in Nagasaki. Drones mapping villages and towns in Maharashtra

Surveying a village is time consuming and prone to errors. Maharashtra government has found a solution for this by replacing the manual surveys with drone surveys, which they say is very accurate and fast. The Maharashtra government is using drones mounted with high resolution cameras to speed up the exercise of mapping villages and towns in the state. The government has launched a pilot project to survey the areas with the help of camera-fitted drones. The project was launched in Sonori village in Purandar tehsil of Pune district. SpiceJet inks $12.5 billion deal with Safran

SpiceJet has entered into a $ 12.5 billion contract with Safran for LEAP-1B engines to power its fleet of 155 Boeing 737 Max planes. The agreement, which covers ten-year rate per flight hour agreement and spare engines, was signed yesterday on the sidelines of French president Emmanuel Macron’s visit to India. The LEAP-1B engines are manufactured by CFM International, a part of Safran group of France and are the sole engine variant for the 737 Max planes. Under the terms of the agreement, CFM guarantees maintenance costs for all SpiceJet’s LEAP-1B engines on a pay by hour basis. Ras Al Khaimah to open phase II of world’s longest zipline by year-end

Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) has announced that considering the visitor response, it will open the phase II of world’s longest zipline in the third quarter of 2018. The phase II will feature two new cables and will increase the capacity of the Jebel Jais Flight to 400 people per day, around 200,000 per year.
