Phuket, Thailand’s most popular tourist destination and city, is set to attract a large number of tourists. Thailand, which is slowly returning to its former glory after covid, has begun preparations to receive tourists to Phuket from July 1. Thailand offers Yacht quarantine to fish tourists

Tourists to Thailand can now spend their mandatory two-week coronavirus quarantine on a luxury yacht, as part of a bid by the government to revive the country’s tourism industry, which is the major source of income for the country. Thai government’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency, along with partners including top telecom group Advanced Info Service, jointly announced the yacht quarantine program earlier this week. Bruda whales sighted at Marine Park in the Gulf of Thailand

A healthy pair of Bruda whales (also known as Bryde’s whales) were recently sighted by Park rangers in Mu Ko Ang Thong National Marine Park. The pair, estimated to measure between approximately six and eight metres respectively, were seen on 20 February at 13.40 Hrs. behind the island of Ko Mae Ko in an area near the Wua Ta Lap Island channel, which is part of the Mu Ko Ang Thong National Marine Park in the Gulf of Thailand in Surat Thani. The Ministry of Public Health’s Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) Thailand has announced that foreign golfers with advance arrangements for golfing in Thailand will be allowed to undergo a golf quarantine as an alternative local state quarantine option. During the quarantine period, foreign golfers will be able to enjoy golfing and health-related activities at the golf course at their own expense, thus allowing the opportunity to undergo quarantine and enjoy golfing in Thailand at the same time. Thailand’s tourism sector continues to safely and slowly reopen welcoming international travellers to the country with special tourist initiatives, while also remaining vigilant by enforcing strict public health guidelines to protect all during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Thailand may hit 14-year low in tourist arrivals

The number of foreign tourists in Thailand may plunge by almost two-thirds to 14 million this year. This will be the lowest level in 14 years, as the coronavirus pandemic hits global travel, according to estimates from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), a Reuters report said. The TAT now predicts only 14 million to 16 million foreign visitors this year, sharply down from 33.8 million projected in March. Last year’s foreign arrivals were a record 39.8 million. Phuket enters shutdown mode

Phuket, the tourism magnet of Thailand, is entering the shutdown phase from Monday. Transportation to the island will be banned, and the lockdown will last for a month. Phuket Governor Pakkapong Taweepat has said boats, cars and trucks providing essential goods and services are exempted.
