TIM projects to be completed in time-bound manner: Minister Riyas

Facilitation centre to be set up to fast track projects Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 11: All projects presented at the recent Tourism Investors Meet (TIM) organised by the Kerala Tourism Department in association with the industry will be completed in a time-bound manner through a single-window system. A facilitation centre will start functioning at the Department of Tourism by January 25 to fast track the project and a web portal by February 10 for the purpose, Kerala Tourism Minister Shri Mohamed Riyas said while presiding over a review meeting here. 3D-printed Masks Coated with Anti-Viral Agents

An integration of 3D printing and pharmaceuticals has resulted in a novel type of mask which attacks the virus when viral particles come in contact with it. Developed by Pune-based start-up firm Thincr Technologies India Private Limited, these masks are coated with anti-viral agents known otherwise as virucides. The virucidal mask project is among the earliest projects to have been selected for commercialization, by the Technology Development Board (TDB), a statutory body of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, as part of the Government’s fight against COVID-19. Minister P. A Mohammad Riyaz has said that at least one tourist center will be set up in all the panchayats in the state. Campaigns will be launched in various countries to attract tourists for planning their Kerala Trip. He said the target was to attract 20 lakh tourists to the state by 2025. In a boost to exports of organic products, a consignment of 10.20 MT of value-added products of organically certified gluten-free jackfruit powder & retort-packed jackfruit cubes were exported to Germany from Bengaluru yesterday via sea route. The has been processed in the APE jackfruit DA assisted packhouse owned by Phalada Agro Research Foundations (PARF), Bengaluru. APEDA registered PARFrepresents a group of 1500 farmers with a wide coverage of around 12,000 acres of farms. Six Indian tourist destinations have been included in the UNESCO provisional list

Six important places in India have been inscribed on UNESCO’s provisional World Heritage List. Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Patel made the announcement. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has handed over to UNESCO a list of nine historic Indian sites to be inscribed on the World Heritage List. Six of the sites were selected by UNESCO.
