Dubai to ensure healthy eating during Ramadan

The municipality has said it will intensify inspections at food establishments in connection with Ramadan. Health standards must be strictly adhered to in the preparation, storage, and distribution of food. Sultan Ali al-Tahir, head of the food monitoring department, said the inspections would be carried out in warehouses and hypermarkets as well. There will also be regular inspections at fruit and vegetable markets and fish and meat centers. The quality of food items distributed in mosques and Ramadan tents will also be checked. Emirates reopens its lounges worldwide

Emirates is re-opening its lounges around the world beginning with the Emirates lounge at Cairo International Airport. In the coming weeks, Emirates’ customers can look forward to once again enjoying Emirates lounge services in other destinations including New York’s JFK International and Manchester Airport. Dubai Tourism, TikTok partner for marketing campaign

Following Kerala Tourism, who has entered into a partnership with TikTok recently, the Ministry of Tourism, Dubai has also announced its partnership with mobile video application TikTok for their #ThisisDubai social media campaign. As part of the partnership, the app created “AR stickers with exclusive Dubai themed music”. Air India to launch direct flights from Kolkata and Indore to Dubai

Air India has announced that the first flight from Indore to Dubai will take off on July 15. Air India has already started taking bookings and over a dozen people have already booked the tickets for the inaugural flight within the first six hours. The new flight will take off from Indore on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The flight will depart from Indore at 4.40 pm and reach Dubai at 7.05 pm on Mondays. European visitors to the GCC are set to increase 29% by 2023

Arrivals from Europe to the GCC will increase 29 per cent over the period 2018 to 2023, driven by new and direct flight routes, a growing number of millennial and middle-class travellers and competitive air fares, according to the latest data released ahead of Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2019, which takes place at Dubai World Trade Centre from 28 April – 1 May 2019. Dubai attracts 1.61 mn visitors in Jan 2019; India tops with 206,000 visitors

Dubai has attracted 1.61 million international visitors in January 2019, with India being the top source market with 206,000 visitors. Total international guests shows a marginal increase with 1.61 million in 2019 compared to the 1.59 million visitors in 2018. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stands second with 160,000 visitors and China stands third with 100,000 visitors. However, the number of visitors from India showed a 12 per cent decrease compared to the 2018 period. The guests’ length of stay at the emirate recorded 3.8 nights.

Emirates to link Phnom Penh and Bangkok with daily service from Dubai

Emirates said it will link Phnom Penh (PNH) and Bangkok (BKK) with a new daily service set to launch on June 1, 2019. The service from Dubai to Phnom Penh, via Bangkok, will provide passengers travelling between the capital cities of Cambodia and Thailand with more flight options. The new service will be operated with an Emirates Boeing 777 aircraft.
