Fairmont opens its beach for free to children with disabilities

The private beach at ­Fairmont The Palm Dubai, located on Palm Jumeirah, is open for children with disabilities. The children can avail the facilities totally free of cost, thanks to a collaboration between Team Angel Wolf, a non-profit association and Fairmont The Palm. The children will be taken on a devise specially designed for the purpose. ­It looks like extended deckchairs with a lengthy seat section suspended on a tubular frame. After a successful ITB Berlin held in Germany from March 7-11, Kerala Tourism conducted a roadshow in Marseille, France on March 13. The Kerala Tourism is touring European countries as part of its marketing campaigns to attract more European tourists to the God’s own Country. Stephen Hawking dies at 76

Stephen Hawking has died at the age of 76. The renowned British scientist died peacefully at his home in Cambridge in England in the early hours of this morning. “He was a great scientist and an extraordinary man whose work and legacy will live on for many years,” said Lucy, Robert and Tim, his children, in a statement. The UAE’s consulates in Boston and New York have issued an advisory on the UAE Embassy twitter page saying Emirati residents need to be cautious and contact the embassy for emergencies. The winter storm in the United States is poised to re-intensify, prompting weather warnings to residents. The notification read that Emirati residents in Boston need to take precautions. The winter storm, set to descend on Monday 11pm up until Tuesday 8pm, is moving in. Blizzard warnings have been issued along the coast of Massachusetts too. Policing without policemen in Dubai

Dubai Police has announced its latest project – ‘Police Without Policemen’ – as part of the Dubai 10X initiative. It will make Dubai a city of the future, using three specific activation that ensure security using futuristic solutions. The plans include setting up fixed cameras on fences and homes, the launch of a surveillance blimp and creating a Station in Patrol which aims to provide rapid response to emergencies and replace the need to build traditional police stations. UAE – Saudi Arabia rail link by December 2021

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) – Saudi Arabia rail link will be operational by December 2021. The 2,100 km (1,300 mile) passenger, cargo network, once completed, will connect six GCC states. “By the end of December 2021 we will have a connection between us and the Saudis,” Abdullah Salem Al Kathiri, director general of the Federal Authority for Land and Marine Transport. Phase 2 of Etihad Rail will be linked to Mussafah, to the Khalifa and Jebel Ali Ports, respectively in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and to the Saudi and Omani borders.

Bangalore-based Indian online taxi service Ola has started their new chapter at Sydney in Australia. The company had started their successful service at Perth in February. Ola is currently utilizing local resources in Australia to unite the drivers and partners. Over 49 people feared dead at Kathmandu plane crash

It was a dark day in the history of aviation, as the Bangla flight from Dhaka to Kathmandu crash landed killing over 49 people on board. According to reports and eyewitness, the plane was found unstable and crashed with nose hitting the ground. No mechanical failure was detected by the authorities. IndiGo cancels 47 flights

IndiGo has cancelled as many as 47 flights today after aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) grounded eight A320Neo planes of IndiGo with faulty Pratt & Whitney engines, along with three such aircraft of GoAir. IndiGo has cancelled 47 flights across its domestic network, the airline announced on its website. The flights that have been cancelled are from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Patna, Srinagar, Bhubaneswar, Amritsar, Srinagar and Guwahati, among others.
