Jet Airways’ Trichy-Delhi flight on March 25; IndiGo’s Bangaluru flight soon

Jet Airways is all set to commence its new service between Trichy- Mumbai – Delhi on March 25 on a daily basis, said airport director K Gunasekaran. A separate commercial space has been allotted to IndiGo, which has plans to commence a service between Trichy and Bangalore. The Jet Airway flight (9W358) would depart at 9 am in Delhi and reach Mumbai at 11.20 am. From there the flight would depart at 12.25 pm and would arrive at Trichy airport at 2.10. Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran urges Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to initiate talks with the Chief Ministers and Transport Ministers of neighbouring states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to discuss about tourism possibilities. The fifth edition of Kerala Blog Express, the annual campaign of state Tourism Department, will be flagged off on March 18. Minister for Tourism Kadakampally Surendran will flag off the two-week-long event from Mascot hotel in Thiruvananthapuram. No plan to permanently ban trekking: Kerala min

The forest fire in the Theni – Kolukkumalai region has forced the state government of Kerala to order a ban on all trekking activities in the state. State Forest Minister K Raju clarifies that the government has no plans to permanently shut down the eco-tourism activities in the state. Stephen Hawking has died at the age of 76. Kolukkumalai fire: 11 dead

Atleast 12 people are reported to be killed in the forest fire at Kurangini hills at Kolukkumalai in Theni district of Tamil Nadu. 25 have been rescued so far. Earlier it was reported that 27 people including 25 women are feared to have been trapped in the severe forest fire atop the Kolukkumalai Hills in Tamil Nadu. But, at present as per the reports many are feared to have been trapped in the fire. Of the nine dead, four are women, four men and a child. Atleast 27 people including 25 women are feared to have been trapped in the severe forest fire atop the Kolukkumalai Hills in Tamil Nadu. “Two groups have gone for trek inKolukumalai. Japan and Singapore are now the world’s most powerful passports, according to the Henley Passport Index. They’ve knocked Germany off the top spot, with visa-free access to 179 destinations. India was given the 81st spot with visa-free-access to 56 countries, as per the index. South Korea holds third place in the rankings, alongside Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Spain and Sweden. It’s passport holders have visa-free access to 178 destinations.
