A consortium of Flight Simulation Technique Centre, Big Charter and Imperial Capital Investments LLC has reportedly secured $100 million that will be pumped into Jet Airways in order to revive the defunct airline. The consortium is one of the two bidders that submitted resolution plans for Jet Airways earlier this week. Lenders had shortlisted it, along with three other entities, for Jet Airways’ insolvency process back in June. The Jet Airways said it will withdraw services from nine airports in India and Gulf by February 2019 with an aim to drive better cost efficiencies. According to a Jet Airways spokesperson, the operations have been shut in Jorhat, Silchar, Imphal, Aizawl, Raipur, Sharjah Muscat, Madurai and Vizag. “The airline has undertaken comprehensive review of its network, whereby it will move capacity from uneconomical routes to more profitable ones, to more closely align the capacity offered with the demand characteristics of specific markets,” said the airline in a letter to the Travel Agents Association of India. Jet Airways has started its new non-stop service between Mumbai and Manchester, further expanding the airline’s connectivity in the United Kingdom (UK). Jet Airways is all set to introduce the country’s first non-stop service between Mumbai and Manchester effective 05th November, 2018. Jet Airways Ltd has told its pilots that the airline may be grounded in 60 days unless cost-cutting measures including pay cuts are put in place, as reported by Reuters on Friday, 3rd July 2018. Following the acute financial stringency, the authorities had requested the pilots for a 15 per cent pay cut for two years to withstand the turbulent situation, however the pilots did not agree with the proposal so far. Jet Airways said it will connect Patna with Allahabad from June 14 under the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik) scheme. The flight will leave Allahabad at 8 am and reach Patna at 9.40 am. For the return journey, the flight will take off from Patna at 10.10 am and reach Allahabad at 11.50 am. The 72-seater aircraft will operate thrice a week -Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
