Araku forests will soon be open for tourists at night

The Andhra Pradesh Tourism department is planning to introduce night vihar, a unique tourism package that will allow tourits to trek throught the wilderness of Visakhapatnam. On a pilot basis, the Araku forests will be made accessible for tourists at night. Representatives of the forest department and the tourism department will escort the tourists for night forest tours to ensure safety. Annual Visakha Utsav to be held from December 26 to 28

Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao has announced the tentative dates for conducting the annual Visakha Utsav. The festival will most likely to be held from December 26 to 28. Final dates will be announced in a few days. This year, the utsav will focus on harnessing local talent and involving local people, and a budget of around Rs 1 crore will be sanctioned for the same. Jet Airways to shut services to 9 airports in India and Gulf

The Jet Airways said it will withdraw services from nine airports in India and Gulf by February 2019 with an aim to drive better cost efficiencies. According to a Jet Airways spokesperson, the operations have been shut in Jorhat, Silchar, Imphal, Aizawl, Raipur, Sharjah Muscat, Madurai and Vizag. “The airline has undertaken comprehensive review of its network, whereby it will move capacity from uneconomical routes to more profitable ones, to more closely align the capacity offered with the demand characteristics of specific markets,” said the airline in a letter to the Travel Agents Association of India. AirAsia to launch Vizag-Bangkok flights from Dec 8

Low-cost air carrier AirAsia has announced the launch of a new flight service connecting Visakhapatnam and Bangkok. The service, which begins from December 8, will operate on four weekdays from Vizag to Bangkok (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) and the return flights from Bangkok to Vizag would be on Monday, Wednesday.
