The 65 lighthouses selected in the country will be converted into tourism hubs. The Central Government has already started efforts for this. Andhra Pradesh government yesterday decided to resume tourism in the state

The Andhra Pradesh government yesterday decided to resume tourism in the state. The announcement to reopen all the prime tourist attractions was made by the state Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivas Rao on Wednesday. He expressed that as the numbers of positive cases have dropped in the country, the tourist spots can now reopen from Thursday. The Minister also said that they will plan a roadshow across the country to popularise the state’s tourist attractions. APTDC launches food zones in tourist hotspots

With an aim to attract more tourists to the state, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), has set up food zones at three popular tourist spots in the state. The new facilities have been set up at Bheemili, Araku, and Yaradu beach. Parasailing likely to be introduced at Rushikonda Beach in Vizag

With an aim to give a much-anticipated fillip to the adventure tourism sector in Vizag, the Andhra Pradesh tourism authorities have decided to introduce parasailing at the Rushikonda beach. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation is all set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in this regard with a private operator. Cyclone Gaja alert sounded in Tamil Nadu, Andhra and Puducherry

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cyclone red alert for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh. Cyclone Titli had earlier made landfall on October 11 and left 62 people dead in Odisha. The IMD said the cyclone Gaja was approaching coastal Tamil Nadu (east-northeast of Chennai) and east-southeast of Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. Extension of closing time of eateries to boost nightlife in Andhra Pradesh

Late night meanderers of Andhra Pradesh need not starve any more. The state government has given approval to extend the last closing time of eateries until midnight. Currently, eateries have to close shop by 10.30 pm Order has been issued by the Labour Department to this effect. It is expected that the move will encourage nigh life in the state and will contribute to tourism development. The extension in closing time is only for eateries and not applicable for bars.
