Kurnool Airport Inaugurated

Kurnool Airport, at Orvakal, Andhra Pradesh was inaugurated on 25th MAR by Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh, joined virtually by Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State Civil Aviation . Kurnool is the 6th airport in Andhra Pradesh to become functional after Kadapa, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Rajahmundry & Vijayawada. The flight operations at Kurnool airport will commence on 28th March 2021 under the Regional Connectivity Scheme – Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (RCS-UDAN). UDAN 4.1 : More routes proposed with focus on connecting smaller airports

On the commencement of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (India@75)’ launched by Government of India, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has proposed  about 392 routes under UDAN 4.1 bidding process.  The Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)- Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) is a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) envisaged to make air travel affordable and widespread in the country. The scheme intends to boost inclusive national economic growth, employment opportunities, and air transport infrastructure development across the nation. IndiGo announces six new flights with four UDAN routes from June 22

IndiGo has announced six new routes, out of which four will be serving Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) RCS scheme, starting June 22, 2019. The UDAN routes include Kolkata-Allahabad, Allahabad-Kolkata, Raipur-Allahabad, Allahabad-Raipur. On the other hand, the airline launched new flights between Kolkata, Allahabad, Raipur and Jabalpur, while developing regional hubs at Allahabad and Kolkata. The new routes will be serviced by an ATR aircraft. Kashmir tourism stakeholders request UDAN scheme to the state

Tourism players of Kashmir valley made a request to extend the UDAN (ude desh ka aam nagrik) scheme of the central government to Kashmir region to tackle the skyrocketing air fairs, which hampers the flow of tourists to the state. UDAN (ude desh ka aam nagrik) scheme was launched by the union ministry to make air travel affordable for people through subsidized ticket prices and to provide air connectivity to smaller towns. Airport Authority of India to take over Kushinagar Airport in Uttar Pradesh

Airports Authority of India (AAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 5th March 2019  with State Government of Uttar Pradesh for taking over the development and operationsalization of existing Kushinagar Airport, which belongs to State Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. It was revealed by AAI in a press release. SpiceJet launches 10 new UDAN flights, 8 connecting Gwalior

SpiceJet has launched eight new daily direct flights to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh under UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme. Gwalior will be SpiceJet’s 11th destination under the regional connectivity scheme. In addition to the eight new flights to Gwalior, SpiceJet has also announced four new daily flights connecting Bhopal including the Bhopal-Udaipur UDAN flight. Gwalior will be SpiceJet’s 52nd domestic destination. Kannur airport to start UDAN services from Friday

Kannur Airport Services under the union ministry’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme have been launched in Kannur Airport, to provide air travel for Indian cities at low rates. IndiGo launched its first service under the scheme from Friday, 26th January 2019. SpiceJet begins direct flight between Kolkata and Lilabari

SpiceJet has announced a daily direct flight on the Kolkata-Lilabari route under the regional connectivity scheme, UDAN. Reiterating its focus on regional connectivity, the airline also announced a new direct flight connecting Kolkata with Jabalpur and an additional frequency on Hyderabad-Jabalpur route. IndiGo launches flight between Allahabad and Bengaluru

IndiGo has launched non-stop flights between Allahabad and Bengaluru at a starting all-inclusive price of Rs 2,500. The flight started from Bengaluru on Thursday at 1:30 pm and reached Allahabad at 4:10 pm. The flight started from Allahabad at 4:40 pm and reached Bengaluru at 9:00 pm, an airline release said. With this new connectivity, Allahabad-Bengaluru has become the sixth RCS (Regional Connectivity Scheme – UDAN) route and the 60th destination on IndiGo’s network. SpiceJet to start Jaisalmer flights under UDAN II

SpiceJet is introducing flights from Ahmedabad and Surat in Gujarat to Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, under the regional connectivity scheme UDAN. The direct Ahmedabad-Jaisalmer-Ahmedabad and Surat-Jaisalmer-Surat flights will commence operations on October 31 and November 30, respectively. The routes were awarded to the airline under UDAN II. With the introduction of the two routes, SpiceJet will operate 25 daily flights under UDAN in straight 14 months since its first launch in July 2017. Trujet to add six more airplanes into its fleet by December

Hyderabad-based Turbo Megha Airways Private Limited’s Trujet, said it is planning to double its fleet size and destinations served in India by end of this year. Truejet currently has five ATR-72 carriers in its fleet serving 14 destinations in the South. The airline will be adding six more ATRs into its fleet by this year-end, enabling it to start operations to 10 more destinations which were allotted to the company under the second UDAN bidding. “Non-participation of Kannur Airport in the UDAN scheme is due to the possible loss of income for our state,” said Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarai Vjayan. He was delivering his keynote at the MP’s meet in Thiruvananthapuram. “If we are part of the UDAN scheme, only one aviation company can operate in a particular route. It will adversely affect Kannur Airport, which is striving to be one of the best airports in India.
