K J Alphons, Minister for Tourism, Govt of India arrives at Vizag for the IATO convention The 34th Annual Convention of Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) kick-starts at Novotel in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The annual convention held from September 6 to 9, 2018, is conducted under the patronage of the Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu. The minister will inaugurate the India Travel Mart at 6 pm at the hotel. The previous two conventions were held in Hyderabad in 1997 and 2003, both were inaugurated by the Chief Minister himself. Incredible India is conducting roadshow in China’s Beijing. “China has one of the biggest tourist inflows with 144 million outbound tourists last year. India received only 250,000 of that and, with an aim to increase the footfalls, we are conducting big-time roadshow in China,” said Tourism Minister, K J Alphons. The minister is currently visiting Beijing with 20 leading Indian travel agents for the first event of a series of road shows held by the Tourism Ministry, Government of India. The central government is taking all measures to attract more Chinese tourists to the country. The Tourism Ministry has planned a series of roadshows, a dedicated tourist office, and is also training Mandarin-speaking guides to attract more Chinese tourists. The ministry is also planning to host Chinese media in India for the purpose. “Tourist arrivals from China will be our major focus area in the coming months. First project under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme ‘North East Circuit: Imphal & Khongjom’ in Manipur inaugurated today. The major restoration, reconstruction and development works taken up under the project was at a cost of nearly Rs 69 crore. കോഴിക്കോട് വിമാനത്താവളത്തിൽ വലിയ വിമാനങ്ങൾ ഇറങ്ങാൻ നടപടിയായി. ഇരട്ട എഞ്ചിനുള്ള സീ പ്‌ളെയിൻ സർവീസ് കേരളത്തിൽ തുടങ്ങാൻ അനുമതി നൽകിയതായും കേന്ദ്ര വ്യോമയാന മന്ത്രി സുരേഷ് പ്രഭു അറിയിച്ചു. ഡൽഹിയിൽ തന്നെകണ്ട കേന്ദ്ര ടൂറിസം മന്ത്രി അൽഫോൺസ് കണ്ണന്താനത്തെയാണ് സുരേഷ് പ്രഭു ഇക്കാര്യമറിയിച്ചത്. കോഴിക്കോട്ടു വലിയ വിമാനമിറങ്ങാൻ സുരക്ഷാ പരിശോധന പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയെന്ന് ഡിജിസിഎ അറിയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. സൗദി എയർലൈൻസ് ഉടൻ ഇവിടെ നിന്ന് സർവീസ് തുടങ്ങും. ഈ മാസം 28നകം ഇക്കാര്യത്തിൽ നടപടികൾ പൂർത്തീകരിക്കും. ഇതിനുശേഷം എപ്പോൾ വേണമെങ്കിലും സൗദി എയർ ലൈൻസിനു സർവീസ് തുടങ്ങാം. അടുത്ത വർഷം മുതൽ കോഴിക്കോട് ഹജ്ജ് എംബാർക്കേഷൻ പോയിന്റാകും. കണ്ണൂർ വിമാനത്താവളത്തിനുള്ള അനുമതികൾ ഒക്ടോബർ 1നു മുൻപ് പൂർണമായും നൽകും. ഇതിനു ശേഷം വിമാനത്താവളം എപ്പോൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കണമെന്ന് സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാരിന് തീരുമാനിക്കാം. കണ്ണൂർ വിമാനത്താവളത്തിൽ നിന്ന് സർവീസുകൾ തുടങ്ങാൻ ഇൻഡിഗോ, ഗോ എയർ,എയർ ഇന്ത്യ എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് അനുമതി നൽകി.ഒക്ടോബർ അവസാനം മുതൽ കണ്ണൂരിൽ നിന്ന് രാജ്യാന്തര ...   നെഹ്‌റു ട്രോഫി, ആറന്മുള ജലോത്സവങ്ങൾക്കു കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാർ 25 ലക്ഷം രൂപ വീതം അനുവദിച്ചു. കേന്ദ്ര ടൂറിസം മന്ത്രി അൽഫോൺസ് കണ്ണന്താനം ഡൽഹിയിൽ അറിയിച്ചതാണിക്കാര്യം. പമ്പ ജലോത്സവത്തിനും തുക അനുവദിച്ചെന്നു പറഞ്ഞ മന്ത്രി പക്ഷെ ഇത് എത്രയെന്നു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയില്ല. കേരളത്തിലെ ജലോത്സവങ്ങൾക്ക് ഇതാദ്യമായാണ് കേന്ദ്ര സഹായമെന്നും അൽഫോൺസ് കണ്ണന്താനം പറഞ്ഞു. അതിനിടെ സംസ്ഥാന ടൂറിസം മന്ത്രി കടകംപള്ളി സുരേന്ദ്രൻ അൽഫോൺസ് കണ്ണന്താനവുമായി കൂടിക്കാഴ്ച നടത്തി. കണ്ണന്താനം മന്ത്രിയായ ശേഷം കേരളം സമർപ്പിച്ച എട്ടു പദ്ധതികളിൽ ഒന്നും അംഗീകരിച്ചിട്ടില്ലന്നു കടകംപള്ളി ആരോപിച്ചു. 2015-17ൽ അനുവദിച്ച നാല് പദ്ധതികളിൽ രണ്ടെണ്ണം പൂർത്തിയായെന്നും മറ്റുള്ളവയുടെ പണി പുരോഗമിക്കുന്നെന്നും മന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. ശ്രീപദ്മനാഭസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം, ആറന്‍മുള, ഗുരുവായൂര്‍ ക്ഷേത്രം, മുനിസിപ്പാലിറ്റി വികസനം തുടങ്ങിയവ ഇനിയും പൂര്‍ത്തിയായിട്ടില്ല. ഗവി- വാഗമണ്‍ പദ്ധതിയാണ് പൂര്‍ത്തിയായത്. ശ്രീപദ്മനാഭസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്വദേശി ടൂറിസം പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഉദ്ഘാടനത്തിനായി പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയെ ക്ഷണിക്കാമെന്നു കേന്ദ്രമന്ത്രി അറിയിച്ചതായി മന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. കേന്ദ്രത്തിന്റെ സ്വദേശ് ദർശൻ പദ്ധതിയിൽ കാലടി-മലയാറ്റൂർ ... Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the Indian Culinary Institute on August 19 in Tirupati.  The construction of the Rs 98.6 crores ICI has been completed. Union Minister of Tourism K J Alphons will also participate in the programme. The State government has provided 14.21 acres of land for ICI near Tirupati Airport. Foreign tourist arrivals (FTA) in India has seen a 14 per cent jump in 2017 as compared to 2016. The foreign exchange earnings (FEE) in the sector in 2017 was Rs 1,77,874 crore, said Union Tourism Minister K J Alphons. He said India ranks 26th in the world in arrival of global tourists and is one of the highest growing tourist economies in the world. The Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned Rs 426.02 crores for Tribal and Rural Circuit under Swadesh Darshan Scheme, said K J Alphons, Minister for Tourism. Tribal and Rural Circuits are among the fifteen thematic circuits identified for development under Swadesh Darshan Scheme. “The projects under the scheme are identified for development in consultation with the State Governments/UT Administrations and are sanctioned subject to availability of funds, submission of suitable detailed project reports, adherence to scheme guidelines and utilization of funds released earlier,” said the minister. Music pillars of Hampi, Karnataka Ministry of Tourism has identified 17 sites in 12 clusters in the country for development under Iconic Tourist Sites Development Project, pursuant to Budget Announcements of 2018-19.
