Tourism Minister calls for attracting more Chinese travellers to the state

Mexico to launch new tourism campaign to woo Chinese travellers

The government of Mexico is planning to launch its latest tourism campaign, called “Knocking at the Door,” to attract more Chinese tourists. The idea is to target countries with large tourism markets, such as China, and improve Mexico’s standing among global tourist destinations, Tourism Minister Miguel Torruco said in a press release. “There are 15 countries that outrank us in terms of generating foreign revenue (from tourism), whose governments and private sectors have been more creative in boosting their product so it impacts consumers,” said Torruco. “Mexico aims to attract more of China’s 124 million travelers this year, including 22 million ... More people are going abroad but they are spending less money on travel: Study

The 2018 Global Traveler Report reveals that despite record numbers of air travellers, up from 415 million in 2012 to a projected 808 million this year, the size of the travel retail market is slowly shrinking. Global travel retail spending has dropped by $15 billion from $397 billion in 2016 to a projected $382 billion this year. The average travelling consumer is now spending $491 per trip, almost $170 less than in 2012, says the report. Ministry of Tourism to appoint strategic adviser for Chinese market

The government is taking a slew of measures to increase the number of tourists visiting India from China. And, as part of this initiative, the ministry is planning to appoint a strategic adviser for the Chinese market. India plans measures to attract more Chinese tourists

The central government is taking all measures to attract more Chinese tourists to the country. The Tourism Ministry has planned a series of roadshows, a dedicated tourist office, and is also training Mandarin-speaking guides to attract more Chinese tourists. India planning to boost Chinese tourist arrivals

Tourism Minister KJ Alphons has said that the tourism ministry is very keen to attract more Chinese travellers and is hopeful of boosting their arrivals to 14.4 million in five years. The ministry has introduced a slew of measures which includes promotional events and Mandarin-speaking guides. Chinese market to revive Tunisian tourism

Nearly 12,000 Chinese tourists have visited Tunisia between January and May 2018, registering a growth of 56.8 per cent year on year, according to the statistics of Tunisian Ministry of Tourism. With a history of over 3,000 years, Tunisia, lying at the north point of the African continent, is renowned for its rich tourism resources. With an aim to attract more Chinese travellers, Nepal has launched an interactive tourism website, in Chinese language to attract more Chinese tourists. Chinese tourists in Thailand surged to a record 1.2 million in February

Visitors from China surged to a record 1.2 million in February, swelled by the Lunar New Year holiday period. Thailand expects 38 million tourists overall this year, more than 10 million from China. China’s outbound travel market raked up 130 million trips in 2017, a 7 per cent increase on 122 million trips recorded in 2016. China to ban citizens with bad ‘social credit’

Starting May 1, China will be imposing strict penalties for those with low scores on its so-called social credit system. Chinese citizens with low scores will be unable to travel via plane or train for up to an year, states a release by National Development and Reform Commission.
