Nepal Tourism launches Visit Nepal 2020 campaign in Mumbai

Nepal Tourism Board has formally launched its ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ campaign in Mumbai during the third leg of its four-city roadshow in India and interacted with key outbound agents here. Nepal to join hands with Kerala on tourism, ayurveda

Nepal has agreed to align with Kerala on tourism and ayurveda. The decision was taken during the visit of the former prime minister of Nepal and senior leader of Communist Party of Nepal (UML) Jhala Nath Khanal. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has proposed Khanal for cooperation with Kerala in tourism and ayurveda sectors when he visited the CM at his office in Thiruvananthapuram. Nepal’s Buddha Air to fly to Kolkata from May

Buddha Air, Nepal’s leading private air service provider, will operate flights to Kolkata from May-end this year. Buddha Air will operate its flights to Kolkata with the ATR 72-500 aircraft on Monday, Wednesday and Friday every week. The airlines had earlier planned to start flights to the eastern Indian city from mid-April. However, it changed its flight dates considering upcoming Indian parliamentary elections. “Although the date of the flights has been changed due to the elections, the flight schedule remains unchanged,” said a media statement issued by the Buddha Air. Nepal plans to double tourist footfalls by 2020

The tourism board of the Nepal Government said it is planning to attract two million tourists to the country by 2020. Nepal registered nearly 25 per cent growth in the number of visitors from India in 2017. The Nepal Tourism registered over two lakh visitors from India that year. The Indian market will continue to be one of the main contributors of international visitors to Nepal. At present, about one million visitors travel to Nepal a year from different countries. India, Nepal, Bhutan plan joint task force to protect wildlife

The governments of India, Nepal and Bhutan are actively considering having a joint task force for allowing free movement of wildlife across political boundaries and checking smuggling of wildlife across the Kanchenjunga Landscape, a trans-boundary region spread across Nepal, India and Bhutan. The developments comes up after forest officials and representatives of non-government organisation of the three countries visited parts of the landscape and later held a meeting at Siliguri in north Bengal earlier this month. Nepal and Cambodia sign agreement for 14 weekly flights

Cambodia and Nepal signed their first air service agreement (ASA), which allows 14 weekly flights between both countries, according to Cambodia’s State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA). The agreement was made during Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen’s official three-day visit to Kathmandu, Nepal last week, during which he also attended the Asia-Pacific Summit. “Nepal has become the 45th country to have an ASA with Cambodia. Nepal Tourism has appointed former Member of Parliament of India and cine artist Jaya Prada has been appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the promotion of tourism in the country.
