Bihar to celebrate World Tourism Day with a difference

Bodh Gaya – at Gaya district in Bihar. Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) is organizing various recreational activities to mark the World Tourism Day, which falls on 27th September. The festivities will start on 18th September with the title ‘Paryatan Parv’, means tourism festival. The events include Yoga, meditation and photography competition. Themes of the photographic completion are heritage, forests and wildlife, people, art, festivals and fair in Bihar. Entries for the competition have to be submitted on or before 17th September. Bus service between Bihar and Nepal begins

CM Nithish Kumar flag off the bus service between Bihar to Nepal (Photo Courtesy: PTI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has flagged off the first ever direct bus service between Bihar and Nepal on Tuesday, 11th August 2018. An air-conditioned deluxe bus will link two cities in Bihar – Patna and Bodh Gaya; and two in Nepal – Kathmandu and Janakpur. “This bus service will further strengthen the relations between India and Nepal. India’s visa-free policy brings more tourists to Myanmar

Myanmar Travellers from Myanmar to India have reportedly gone up by more than 10% last year when compared to 2016. The free visa to Myanmar citizens was declared by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his visit to Myanmar in last September and the free visa policy was initiated that month itself. Most travellers from Myanmar are reportedly visiting Bodh Gaya. Around 30,000 pilgrims used to visit annual Bodh Gaya festival every year and now more than 50,000 pilgrims from Myanmar came to attend the festival in 2017.
