Navi Mumbai airport to be ready by 2020; Nagpur to be developed aviation hub

The Navi Mumbai Airport in Maharashtra is expected to be inaugurated by 2020. “We hope the airport will be ready by late 2019 or early 2020,” said Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of the state, while speaking at the Global Aviation Summit in Mumbai. Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu, has written to Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism, K J Alphons, and Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, for developing Maharashtra coast as a tourist hotspot. He said that the marine leisure sector is the fastest growing segment of the travel industry and growth of cruise ship industry, seaside destination resorts, marine parks, scuba diving and aquariums. Commerce Minister requests KJ Alphons to set up IITTM at Konkan region

Ratnagiri, Konkan Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu has requested KJ Alphons, the Tourism Minister of State, to set up Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) at Ratnagiri or Sindhudurg to promote the development of this region. Water aerodromes to come up in five Indian states

With an aim to promote operation of sea planes in the country, the central government has given in-principle approval for construction of ‘water aerodromes’, in five states. The first such aerodromes are set to come up in Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Assam. Chilka Lake in Odisha and Sabarmati river front and Sardar Sarovar Dam in Gujarat have been identified by the government to implement the first phase of the project. “In-principle approval has been given for the construction of water aerodromes in various states across the country. Tourism Minister recommends better air connectivity for tourist destinations

India’s booming tourism industry is aided by the transportation services in a great way. A meeting was held between Union Tourism Minister K.J. Alphons, Minister of Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu and Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayanta Sinha, along with the officials of both ministries for creating better air connectivity of tourist destinations in order to heighten the tourism sector. The Ministry of Civil Aviation agreed to take immediate action regarding better connectivity after discussion with the air operators. Uttarakhand receives global star award on tourism

Uttarakhand has received the Global Star award on tourism from the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu. The Joint Director Uttarakhand Tourism, Poonam Chand received the award at a programme held at Hotel Le Meridien in Delhi. കൊതുകുകടി സഹിക്കാനാകില്ലെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ബഹളം വച്ച യാത്രക്കാരനെ വിമാനത്തില്‍ നിന്നിറക്കി വിട്ട സംഭവത്തില്‍ കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ അന്വേഷണത്തിന് ഉത്തരവിട്ടു. വിമാനം ‘ഹൈജാക്ക്’ ചെയ്യുമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിനാണ് ഡോ. സൌരഭ് റോയിയെ ഇറക്കിവിട്ടതെന്നു വിമാനക്കമ്പനി അറിയിച്ചു. സംഭവത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ട യാത്രക്കാരനു വൻ പിന്തുണയാണു സമൂഹമാധ്യമങ്ങളിൽ ലഭിക്കുന്നത്. ലക്നൗവിൽനിന്നു ബെംഗളൂരുവിലേക്കുള്ള ഇൻഡിഗോ 6ഇ 541 വിമാനം പറന്നുയരും മുൻപേയായിരുന്നു സംഭവം. വിമാനത്തിൽ നിറയെ കൊതുകുകളാണെന്നും അവയെ ഒഴിവാക്കണമെന്നും ഡോക്ടറായ സൗരഭ് റായ് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. എന്നാൽ ഇതു കേൾക്കാതെ തന്നെ കോളറിനു പിടിച്ചു പുറത്താക്കുകയാണ് ഇന്‍ഡിഗോ ജീവനക്കാര്‍ ചെയ്തതെന്ന് സൗരഭ്റോയ് പറഞ്ഞു. ഇതോടെ ജീവനക്കാർക്കു നേരെ സൗരഭ് തട്ടിക്കയറുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്നാണു കമ്പനിയുടെ വാദം. ഭീഷണി നിറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകളും പ്രയോഗിച്ചു. ഇതിനിടെ ‘ഹൈജാക്ക്’ എന്ന വാക്ക് ഉപയോഗിച്ചതിനാണു സുരക്ഷാ കാരണങ്ങളാൽ സൗരഭിനെ പുറത്താക്കിയത്. വിമാനം നശിപ്പിക്കാൻ മറ്റു യാത്രക്കാരോടു സൗരഭ് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടെന്നും ഇൻഡിഗോ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. പരാതി പറഞ്ഞ തന്നോട് ഇൻഡിഗോ ജീവനക്കാർ മോശമായാണു പെരുമാറിയതെന്നു ഹൃദയ ശസ്ത്രക്രിയാ വിദഗ്ധൻ കൂടിയായ ...
