Minister for Tourism KJ Alphons has tweeted that Incredible India’s new ad ‘Yogi of the Racetrack’ could get 3.2 million hits in 60 hours. The new ad was released by the minister at the ITB Berlin on March 7, 2018. The new TV commercial titled ‘Yogi Of The Racetrack’, shows the effect of yoga and its techniques and how it can be related to even the toughest race positions. India is not just depending on the foreign tourist arrivals, close to 24 million Indians travelled last year. “In 2017, 1.8 million trips were made by Indians within the country and which will go up to 2 million in 2018 and we want this number to increase dramatically, its not just about international arrivals but also Indians visiting India,” Tourism Minister K J Alphons said while interacting to the travel/tour operators in a Q&A session at the ITB Berlin. Mysore Travel Mart 2018 begins; Min promises 3 new flights

Mysore is going to be well connected by air with Goa, Mumbai and Kochi, under the UDAAN scheme, promised K J Alphons, Union Minister for State for Tourism, while addressing the inaugural function of Mysuru Travel Mart 2018. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra: Online registration commences

The online reservation for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, organised by Ministry of External Affairs, has commenced. The last date for submitting applications online is March 23. Every year the ministry conducts the much looked after Kailash Mansarovar yatra during June to September through two different routes – Lipulekh Pass (Uttarakhand), and Nathu La Pass (Sikkim). Kailash Manasarovar Yatra (KMY), known for its religious value and cultural significance, is undertaken by hundreds of people every year. Incredible India campaign kick starts in Italy

The Incredible India campaign for 2018 kick starts in Italy with the majestic Taj Mahal adorning the buses in Italy. Italy stood fifteenth considering the percentage share of Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) in India during December, 2017  with a mere 1.44 per cent. The FTAs availing e-tourist visas from Italy stood at 3.1 per cent in December 2017.  

J&K promotes adventure & snow tourism in Bhaderwah Valley

With an aim to promote adventure and snow tourism in Bhaderwah Valley, the Bhadarwah Development Authority (BDA) in collaboration with Jammu Kashmir Tourism Department and Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering (JIM) is planning to organise a week-long training workshop from March 19. Govt to frame tourism policy for livelihood purpose: J&K min

Jammu and Kashmir, Minister for Tourism Tassaduq Hussain Mufti said the state government has adopted a multipronged strategy to harness the tourism potential and position J&K as the leading global destination. Forex revenue from tourism touches $27.7 bn: Economic Survey

Helped by the initiatives taken by the government for the sector, the Foreign exchange earnings (FEEs) from tourism reported 20.8 per cent growth to USD 27.7 billion in 2017. The introduction of  e- visa facility under three categories of tourist, medical and business for the citizens of 163 countries was one of the major innovative decisions made by the government, the survey noted.
