India promotes Buddhist tourism to woo Japanese tourists

With an aim to attract more tourists from Buddhist countries like that of Japan, the Indian Tourism Ministry is planning to promote Buddhist tourism. Italian luxury supercar manufacturer Lamborghini concludes the world tour, coordinated as part of a marketing drive of its latest Super-SUV Lamborgini Urus. Etihad, Emirates to curb operations to UK, Asia, Australia

UAE’s two leading international airlines, Emirates and Etihad, have confirmed the temporary reduction and suspension of services to a number of its global destinations during the summer and autumn periods. Emirates is set to reduce its Dubai to Fort Lauderdale and Dubai to Orlando services from daily to five times a week from early July. Emirates is also set to slightly reduce its services to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpar, Phuket, Munich and London Heathrow in the coming months. Dubai immigration process to be finished in just 10 seconds

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai, (GDRFA-Dubai) will soon launch the “Smart Gate,” a quick and easy alternative to the standard manual passport control counters and e-gates. The new Smart Gate system has undergone testing and will go live next month. “The new gate enables each passenger to pass through immigration without assistance or travel document or ID and within only 10 seconds,” said Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, GDRFA-Dubai Director-General. Saudi waterway to turn Qatar into island

If the Gulf investors are moving ahead with their plans to dig a 60 kilometre-long water canal alongside the border with Qatar, chances are high that Qatar could be turned into an island. The canal would be 60 kms long, 200 meters wide and 15 to 20 meters deep, enabling it to receive all kinds of ships from tankers and passenger ships, with a maximum length of 300 meters and a width of 33 meters. First space hotel will be ready by 2021

Houston-based technological innovation company Orion Span, headed by CEO Frank Bunger is about to install world’s first luxury space hotel into orbit by 2021. The hotel named Aurora Station upon completion can accommodate 4 tourists for over 12 days. Emirates may cut flight frequency on US, Europe, Asia routes

Emirates said to reduce the frequency of services on a number of routes to Europe, Asia and US in the coming months. As reported by Routesonline.com, a schedule update showed the carrier was reducing its Dubai to Fort Lauderdale and Dubai to Orlando services from once a day to five times a week, after July 2 and 3 respectively. The change represents a return to the previous schedule after the carrier said in January it would be restoring daily services to both locations from March 25 following a “steady rebound in customer demand”. Haryana strengthens infrastructure to promote religious tourism

The Haryana government said it is planning to strengthen its infrastructure to promote religious tourism related to Kurukshetra. The Haryana Tourism Department is reported to have decided to spend Rs 38.31 crore on the beautification of ‘Brahm Sarover’ and Rs 32.33 crore on ‘Jyotisar’ under various schemes. Under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of the central government, an amount of Rs 97.34 crore had been allocated for the ‘Sri Krishna Circuit’ out of which Rs 32 crore had been spent on the development of Brahma Sarovar, Jyotisar, Narkaataari, Sanniihit Sarovar and beautification of the Kurukshetra city. Israel looking for 65% growth in Indian tourist arrivals

With the new flight service by Air India between New Delhi and Tel Aviv, Israel now targets a growth of over 65 per cent in Indian tourist arrivals. As many as 60,000 Indian tourists visited Israel in 2017, compared to 45,000 in 2016 and 39,000 in 2015. The Union Ministry has listed Goa’s Colva beach under the ‘Iconic Tourist Site Development Project’, for the most-frequent tourist spot in the state. The new title would thus ensure a major tourism-oriented infrastructure development to the beach. Meanwhile, Colva beach in Goa becomes the only beach destination among other 12 sites across India. Railway to fasten trains at Golden Quadrilateral

Indian Railway, as part of fastening trains connecting the four metro cities of Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi (Quadrilateral) has asked the concerned authorities to improve the existing infrastructure. The American based Walt Disney World Resorts is all about to replace smart keys using mobile phones in their hotels. The new project comes under My Disney Experience app, in which all the features starting from hotel room reservation to itineraries would be featured in under one umbrella. Railway to open heritage steam loco for tourists

National Rail Museum is all set to open heritage steam loco operated trains, exclusively for the tourist in the next years. The steam engines used way back in 1856 years, were the oldest ageing 150 years. The 1920 loco model Phoenix, RamGoti 1865 and Fireless Locomotive made in 1951 is under restoration by the engineers.
