Israel to allow Greek tourists from August 1

Israel has said that travellers coming in from Greece will not have to partake in the 14-day Covid-19 quarantine. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu  met with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakisis to discuss reopening tourism between the two countries, setting August 1 as the date to open the borders.  “We are thrilled that we have been able to set a date for resuming international tourism, beginning with Greece,” said Asaf Zamir, Isreal’s Minister of Tourism. “This is an important development for the citizens of our two countries and a critical step in restoring the travel industry around the globe, helping to position us ... Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) conducted a roadshow in Hyderabad on 26th September to enhance commercial ties with the Indian travel trade fraternity. Tourism to Israel jumps 11% in January 2019

The number of tourists who visited Israel in January 2019 saw an 11 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. The current statistics also show a 35 per cent increase from January 2017, according to the Tourism Ministry. Israel Tourism registers 13 per cent growth in 2018

Four million tourists visited Israel in 2018, an increase of 13 per cent from 2017. This year saw an increase in tourist arrivals of 13 per cent compared to 2017, and 38 per cent compared to 2016, while tourism revenue exceeded NIS 24 billion ($6.3 billion), according to the ministry. The ministry said the increase is due in part to a NIS 350 million ($93 million) marketing campaign promoting Israel as a travel destination around the world, including, in the US, Germany, Russia, Italy, England, China, Ukraine, Brazil, and the Philippines. Israeli tourism sector has been showing a growing trend during the year 2018. Nearly 4 million visitors have visited the historical country, since the beginning of the year. Lufthansa to launch direct service to Eilat

Tourism Minister of Israel Yariv Levin, said Lufthansa AG will begin operating four weekly flights to southern Israeli beach town Eilat. He was speaking at a conference on tourism and technology held by Calcalist in Tel Aviv. Lufthansa later confirmed the service, saying it will begin operating October 28. Levin celebrated the rising popularity of the southernmost Israeli city, which is located at the northern tip of the Red Sea. Israel records 82% increase in Indian arrivals

Israel has witnessed a record breaking growth of 82 per cent in Indian tourist arrivals to the country from January to June, 2018, in the last three years. More than 40,000 Indian tourists visited Israel in the last six months as compared to the 22,000 footfall during the same period in 2015 as per the statistics released by Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT). Israel’s tourism industry in a forward swing

Israel received 2.1 million tourists during the first half of the year 2018, depicting an increase of 19 per cent compared to the same period in 2017 (1.74 million) and 26 per cent more than in 2016. In the month of June, 310,200 tourists visited Israel, according to reports released Monday by the Central Bureau of Statistics, which is 2 per cent more than in June 2017.
