ITDC signs MoU with AIIMS to develop Covid-19 safety protocol

India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a public sector undertaking, under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, to implement preventive measures against Covid-19 infections. ITDC wants to provide a safe, hygienic and healthy environment to guests and staff across its hotels and offices and is looking to lay down a relevant protocol in association with AIIMS. India’s medical tourism sector will revive faster than that in many other countries: ITDC director

Medical tourism will revive faster in India than that in many other countries, a senior India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) official has said. “Indian medical tourism industry is likely to revive faster than even some developed nations in Europe, and probably USA too. ITDC inks MoU with Morocco for tourism development

Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicraft and Social Economy, Kingdom of Morocco, Mohamed Sajid and Minister of State for Tourism (IC), Government of India, K J Alphons held a bilateral meeting on Tourism Cooperation between India and Morocco in New Delhi. During this meeting both the Ministers agreed to enhance the tourism cooperation between India and Morocco and to work towards increasing tourist arrivals between both countries. Jamia Millia University and ITDC to offer new Courses

Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), along with Jamia Millia University had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), for starting Bachelors of Vocation (B.Voc) courses of 3 years. The courses offered are a Bachelor programme on ‘Food Production and a 1-year Diploma in Hospitality, arranged by the Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (AIH&TM) under ITDC. The new programme hopes to fit under the Department of Tourism, Hotel, Hospitality, and Heritage Studies (DTHHHS).  Additionally, the department also offers professional certificate, diploma and degree programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in tourism, hospitality and allied areas. ITDC to develop mega-tourism project

The India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has signed an MOU with Hyderabad-based Suraas Impex for developing a mega tourism destination project at Bairav Lanka in Kakinada, East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. The first phase of the project is estimated to cost Rs 550 crores. This project is the first of its kind for the state-owned ITDC with any private player. Hotel Ashok shuts down

Hotel Ashok in Ranchi has stopped all its operations last Friday. A joint venture between Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the erstwhile Bihar government, the hotel opened in Ranchi in 1988 and had been running at a loss for years. The property has three stakeholders, namely, ITDC (51 per cent), Jharkhand (12.5) and Bihar the rest. Originally, Bihar owned 49 per cent stake but after the formation of Jharkhand, the stakes were split 3:1 following an inter-ministerial meeting under the chairmanship of principal secretary to the Prime Minister in 2004. Govt plans complete exit from ITDC hotels

Web Desk The Government of India is considering a complete exit from the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) by selling 87 per cent of its shares. As part of its disinvestment exercise, the Cabinet, in September 2017, has approved the transfer of Hotel Jaipur Ashok and Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel, Mysore, to the governments of Rajasthan and Karnataka respectively. It also cleared disinvestment of ITDC’s 51 per cent equity in Donyi Polo Ashok, Itanagar, in favour of Arunachal Pradesh. ITDC currently runs 16 hotels in Delhi, Patna, Jammu, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Bhopal, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Guwahati, Mysore, Puducherry and Itanagar. The ... Read more
