Travel to inland villages; Department of Tourism with the new project

Department of Tourism launches new project to expand Kerala’s tourism potential to inland villages. The project, called “Street”, will be implemented in selected areas in seven districts. The project is envisioned by the Responsible Tourism Mission. In the first phase, the project will be implemented in Kadalundi, Trithala, Pattithara, Pinarayi, Ancharakandi, Maravanthuruthu, Manchira, Valiyaparambu, Kanthalloor, and Chekadi. The “Street” is inspired by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) ‘motto’ Tourism for Inclusive Growth ‘. “Street” is an acronym for Sustainable, Tangible, Responsible, Experiential, Ethnic, and Tourism Centers. Tourist centers will be opened after vaccination

Those who work directly or indirectly in connection with tourist destinations will be vaccinated and opened as safe-havens. As a first step, Vaccination in Vaithiri and Meppadi in Wayanad district will be completed and opened to tourists within seven days. Mohammad Riyaz and Veena George said in a press conference. Philippines’ tourism footfall reaches all-time high

Bernadette Romulo Puyat, Secretary, Philippines Tourism  As per the statistics of the Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT), foreign visitor arrivals reached an all-time high of 3.7 million for the first half of 2018. In a statement, the DOT said inbound tourists from January to June this year rose by 10.4 per cent when compared to the 3.3 million arrivals recorded in the same period in 2017. Jamia Millia University and ITDC to offer new Courses

Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), along with Jamia Millia University had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), for starting Bachelors of Vocation (B.Voc) courses of 3 years. The courses offered are a Bachelor programme on ‘Food Production and a 1-year Diploma in Hospitality, arranged by the Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (AIH&TM) under ITDC. The new programme hopes to fit under the Department of Tourism, Hotel, Hospitality, and Heritage Studies (DTHHHS).  Additionally, the department also offers professional certificate, diploma and degree programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in tourism, hospitality and allied areas.
