A R Rahman releases teaser of Hockey World Cup 2018 anthem

The 2018 Men’s Hockey World Cup will be held in Bhubaneswar, India, starting from November 28. Odisha Tourism launches special tour packages for the visitors to the state on the occasion of the Men’s Hokey World cup, which is scheduled on Wednesday, 28th November 2018 in Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha. Odisha to take a pledge for plastic free state on World Tourism Day

Odisha plans roadshows to promote sports tourism

Odisha government is planning to conduct road-shows to promote sports tourism in the state, in view of the forthcoming Hockey Men’s Cup to be taken place at Kalinga Stadium from 28th November to 16th December. The campaigns may start from 27th September, in 17 cities including four metro cities. The organizers claim that this is the first time India, such a campaign is taking place to promote sports tourism and the objective is to showcase Odisha as a sports hub and a tourist destination. Odisha Tourism offers world cup package

In a move to attract international tourists and boost the tourism prospective of Odisha, the state government plans to offer special tour packages to players, delegates and tourists during the men’s hockey world cup which is scheduled to be in November. The tourism department has been given the responsibility for framing the tour packages, which would be different from the ones that are being currently offered to the tourists. Jharsuguda airport to start operations by June

Jharsuguda Airport has received DGCA licence and said it will commence flight operations from June 14. Air Odisha, which bagged the bid, will operate flights from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar, Ranchi and Raipur thereby meeting the long-standing demands for air-connectivity to the Western Odisha region. The airline will use a 21-seater dual-engine Beechcraft aircraft (1900D) to operate from Jharsuguda to the three destinations under the regional connectivity scheme. “We received Jharsuguda Airport’s commercial operations licence on May 4. The annual tribal fair, Adivasi Mela, organized by the government of Odisha, is scheduled to be held on January 26. The event, which was held at the Adivasi Ground at Unit-1, will now be organised at the Idco Exhibition Ground at Unit-3 citing smooth traffic management and better parking facilities.
