Maharashtra Tourism issues monsoon safety advisory
Malshej Ghat Expecting a heavy tourist inflow during the monsoon season, the Maharashtra Tourism Department has issued strict advisories to district collectors to identify a list of “vulnerable” spots and take precautionary measures to avoid unfortunate incidents. Joint Managing Director, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), Ashutosh Rathod, told the media that state Tourism Minister Jaykumar Rawal had instructed district collectors to enhance security measures after identifying the spots at risk. Twin tunnel in Maharashtra
As part of the Missing Link Project, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), is constructing one of the longest four-lane tunnels in the world, between Mumbai and Pune. The project is scheduled to be completed by 2021. The project, joining Kusgaon village and Chavani village in Pune, would be at a length of over 19.8 km. The two twin tunnels will together constitute (4+4) four lanes for a hassle-free, to and fro commuting. Wyndham to open 40 new hotels in India by 2020
