Railway to fasten trains at Golden Quadrilateral

Indian Railway, as part of fastening trains connecting the four metro cities of Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and Delhi (Quadrilateral) has asked the concerned authorities to improve the existing infrastructure. The new move came after the officials come to know that the existing services lacked speed. The ministry also said that the trains should improve the current speed of 60 kmph to 130kmph. Disney World hotels to use mobile as smart keys

The American based Walt Disney World Resorts is all about to replace smart keys using mobile phones in their hotels. The new project comes under My Disney Experience app, in which all the features starting from hotel room reservation to itineraries would be featured in under one umbrella. The smart keys once operational, opens the possibility of unlocking gyms, pools, elevators, club lounges and room straight from the airport. The new feature would exclusively be inaugurated at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and later would be expanded to further hotel chains. 316 ബസുകള്‍ കൂടി വാങ്ങി ദുബൈ ആര്‍ ടി എ

പൊതുഗതാഗത ശൃംഖല വിപുലപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനായി ദുബായ് റോഡ്സ് ആന്‍ഡ് ട്രാന്‍സ്പോര്‍ട്ട് അതോറിറ്റി 316 പുതിയ ബസുകള്‍ കൂടി വാങ്ങുന്നു. 465 ദശലക്ഷം ദിര്‍ഹമാണ് ഇതിനായി ചെലവിടുന്നത്. പരിസ്ഥിതി സൗഹൃദമായ യൂറോപ്യന്‍ എമിഷന്‍ സ്റ്റാന്‍ഡേര്‍ഡ് സര്‍ട്ടിഫിക്കേഷനുള്ള യൂറോ അഞ്ച്, ആറ് സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യകളോടെയും അത്യാധുനിക സൗകര്യങ്ങളോടെയുമുള്ള കോച്ചുകളായിരിക്കും ഇവ. അടുത്ത വര്‍ഷത്തോടെ എല്ലാ ബസുകളും എത്തിച്ചേരും. ഇതോടെ 2019-ല്‍ ദുബായ് ആര്‍.ടി.എ.യുടെ ബസുകളുടെ എണ്ണം 2085 ആയി വര്‍ധിക്കും. ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ മത്തര്‍ അല്‍ തായറുടെ അധ്യക്ഷതയില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്ന ആര്‍.ടി.എ.യുടെ ഡയറക്ടര്‍ ബോര്‍ഡ് യോഗമാണ് ഈ തീരുമാനമെടുത്തത്. പുതുതായി വാങ്ങുന്ന ബസുകളില്‍ 143 എണ്ണം ഡീലക്സ് ഇന്റര്‍സിറ്റി കോച്ചുകളായിരിക്കും. 79 ഡബിള്‍ ഡെക്കര്‍ ബസുകളും 94 എണ്ണം ഇടത്തരം ബസുകളുമായിരിക്കും. ലോകനിലവാരത്തിലുള്ള പൊതുഗതാഗതം ദുബായിലും സജ്ജമാക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയാണ് പുതിയ ബസുകള്‍ വാങ്ങാനുള്ള തീരുമാനമെന്ന് ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ അല്‍ തായര്‍ വിശദീകരിച്ചു. 2030 ആവുമ്പോഴേക്കും ദുബായിലെ വാഹനഗതാഗതത്തിലെ മുപ്പത് ശതമാനവും പൊതുസംവിധാനത്തിലാക്കി മാറ്റുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയാണ് ഈ ... Railway to open heritage steam loco for tourists

National Rail Museum is all set to open heritage steam loco operated trains, exclusively for the tourist in the next years. The steam engines used way back in 1856 years, were the oldest ageing 150 years. The 1920 loco model Phoenix, RamGoti 1865 and Fireless Locomotive made in 1951 is under restoration by the engineers. Rajasthan marks 10.50% rise in tourist arrivals

Rajasthan tourism marks a remarkable increase in tourist arrival, as in 2017 around 475.27 lakh, tourists visited the state which is higher in number when compared with the previous statistics. Around 16.10 lakhs arrivals, out of the total number were foreign tourists with the other half being domestic tourists. Norway to turn green in Aviation

On a mission to curb the increasing emissions and global warming, the Scandinavian nation Norway aims to come up with electric engines in Aviation. “Many people say that we must get rid of air transport because we will never be able to deal with emissions and noise, but this is an outdated approach,” said Ketil Solvik-Olsen, Norwegian Transport Minister. Ladies-only train to be restarted on Delhi-Panipat section

The minister said that the move to restart the train is after observing a large number of women commute between Delhi and Panipat daily. The train is likely to be restarted within the next three to four days. “The train service was stopped due to some difficulties which has caused a lot of resentment among women passengers who faced commuting problems,” Jain said. ‘New Ayodhya’ Township to boost tourism

Uttar Pradesh government is planning to develop a 500-acre ‘New Ayodhya’ township on the banks of the river Sarayu. ‘New Ayodhya’, which is being planned on a stretch of land between the villages of Majha Barhata and Jaisingh Mau near the ancient city of Ayodhya, will be constructed at an estimated initial cost of around Rs 3.5 billion (Rs 350 crores). New train to connect Barak and Brahmaputra valley

A regular weekly express train between Dibrugarh and Silchar will be introduced from April 8, connecting Barak and Brahmaputra valley. The new service will be jointly flagged off by chief minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal and minister of state of Railways Rajen Gohain, from Dibrugarh tomorrow, informed the Northeast Frontier Railway.
