Norway to allow Schengen residents to travel to Svalbard from July 15

Norway will permit the residents of Schengen Zone and European Economic Area (EEA) countries to travel to the archipelago of Svalbard from July 15, according to the Norwegian’s Ministry of Justice and Public Security. Do not transit two Schengen countries consecutively: China

The Chinese Embassy in Ireland has reminded its passport holders that they must not transit two Schengen countries at one time. The advisory was for those stuck in the Schengen areas due to border closures, travel bans and other restrictions amid the Coronavirus outbreak. Through a notice published on its website, the Chinese Embassy noted that many citizens are planning to return to China with repatriation flights from the Schengen countries such as the Netherlands and Belgium. Schengen Visa holders now eligible for Saudi Arabia’s tourist e-Visa

If you have a Schengen visa, you can now apply for Saudi Arabia’s new Tourist e-Visa. Last month, Saudi Arabia launched a Tourist e-Visa, a first for the Kingdom which so far did not allow foreigners to enter simply for tourism purposes. Schengen Visa Fee to increase to 80 euros from January 2020

The European Union Council has announced that travellers in need of a Schengen Visa will need to pay a higher visa fee starting from January 2020. The changes come after the European Union Council gave the final nod to an updated Schengen Visa code on 6 June. The new EU Visa regulation will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union. Six months after, it will come into force and start applying to all third-country nationals that need a visa to the Schengen zone. Turkish e-visa to be procured before leaving India

Indian passport holders, who are eligible for Turkish e-visa, will have to obtain their visas before their departure to Turkey as the e-visa kiosks are not operational at airports in Istanbul. The Embassy of Republic of Turkey had recently scrapped its policy of visa-on-arrival for a number of nationalities, including India. Indian citizens are eligible for e-visa if they have a valid US, UK, Ireland and Schengen visa. German Embassy in Armenia to stop issuing Schengen visa

The German Embassy in Armenia said it will no longer accept applications for Schengen visa starting from April 3, 2018. The embassy has informed that from April 3 onwards, VisaMetric center will accept the applications for Schengen visa for Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, and Sweden. “There has been an increase in number of applications, and the waiting time took at least 6 weeks.
