Folk art forms of the state to be conserved: Karnataka Chief Minister

In order to conserve the folk art forms of the State, HD Kumaraswamy, Karnataka Chief Minister  has directed officers of the Kannada and Culture Department to take steps to resume the Janapada Jatre in the state. Janapada Jatre is a Folklore festival held in the state of Karnataka on weekends. This festival is to showcase the cultural diversity present in Karnataka and encourage the artistes to keep their culture alive. Falling rupee is saving inbound tourism in India

In the second week of September Union Minister K J Alphons said that rupee depreciation was good for the country’s tourism sector, and, his words seem to be true, looking at the growth of inbound tourism. The strengthening dollar and Euro has made India an attractive destination for foreign tourists. Manas National Park in Assam opened for tourists

Renowned tourism destination and World Heritage Site of Assam, Manas National Park, was opened for tourists on Wednesday, 10th October 2018. The national park was inaugurated by Kampa Borgoyari , Deputy Chief of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). A huge gathering was present on the occasion.   Union tourism Minister K J Alphonse has unveiled the new Tourism Policy of Uttarakhand on 8th October 2018. He was participating in the ‘Destination Uttarakhand Investors Summit 2018. Yes Bank was the ‘Knowledge Partner’ of the new Uttarakhand Tourism Policy 2018. Nepal Tourism Board conducts seed camp for budding entrepreneurs

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) plans to host an event to give budding tourism entrepreneurs an opportunity to strengthen their business idea and gather investment support. ‘The Tourism Udhyami Seed Camp’ will be held in Nepal’s tourism capital, Pokhara, from 30th October to 4th November 2018. Kashmir Tourism conducts roadshows in Russia and St Petersburg

As part of the incessant efforts of the state to lure tourists to the valley, the Kashmir tourism department has held road shows at Moscow and St Petersburg. Cyclone Titli: Red alert issued in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh

The Odisha government on Tuesday ordered the closure of all schools, colleges and Anganwadi centres till October 10-11 in four districts of the state as a precautionary measure against Cyclone Titli. Cyclone Titli is very likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours. Dudhsagar waterfalls is now open to public

The authorities have officially opened the Dudhsagar waterfalls, situated deep within the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary. The new season commenced on Tuesday with 1,127 tourists recorded on day one. The all-terrain vehicles ferrying passengers to and fro needs prior permission from the forest department. This season, almost 431 such vehicles have been registered with the state wildlife board. The forest department has restricted the number of trips by the all-terrain vehicles to 170 per day during weekdays and 225 per day on weekends. Thirteen new hill stations to come up in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said the state was in the process of developing 13 new hill stations to give a boost to tourism as older destinations such as Nainital and Mussoorie had reached saturation. Meghalaya, the northeast state of India, is planning to explore the potential of Ayush treatment in the state to promote tourism.
