Ministry of AYUSH and WHO Working Group meet on benchmarks for training in Yoga

Ministry of AYUSH and WHO has been jointly organizing a three days Working Group Meeting for reviewing the WHO document ‘Benchmarks for Training in Yoga, from 26-28 February, 2019 at New Delhi. The meeting is coordinated by Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY). AYUSH Minister launches ‘e-aushadi’ portal

Shripad Yesso Naik , Minister of State for AYUSH, launched the e-AUSHADHI portal, for online licensing of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy drugs and related matters on 13th February  at New Delhi. Addressing the gathering Naik said that this e-AUSHADHI portal is intended for increased transparency, improved information management facility, improved data usability and increased accountability. “Timelines will be fixed for processing of application through this portal with SMS and e-mail status updates at each step of the process. Meghalaya to copy Kerala to develop Ayush model

Meghalaya, the northeast state of India, is planning to explore the potential of Ayush treatment in the state to promote tourism. It was informed by the Health and Family Welfare Minister Alexander Laloo Hek, after his recent visit to Kerala, where he has discussed with the Kerala government the prospects of Ayush in promotion of tourism, “Meghalaya government would like to take up Ayush treatment in a big way like Kerala and the idea is to attract more tourists to the state,” said Hek. India and the Netherlands to join hands for promoting medical tourism

It was suggested by Shirpad Yesso Nayik, Union minister of state for Ayush, while talking in a seminar titled ‘India-Netherlands Collaboration in Healthcare, including Ayurveda, at Leiden. “India is the world’s largest producer of generic medicine and there is tremendous potential for medical value travel to India for conventional and alternative medical treatments like Ayurveda,” said the minister.
