The Netherlands has become the 8th European Union (EU) nation to recognize the India-made Covishield vaccine as a valid proof of vaccination. Prepared by Serum Institute of India (SII)-manufactured Covishield vaccine was earlier not approved by the EU. Fully vaccinated travelers can visit EU nations unless they are traveling from a very high-risk country region due to the presence of the new COVID variant. Netherlands looks for 25% growth in Indian travellers

The Netherlands Board Tourism & Convention (NBTC) has witnessed tremendous growth from the Indian market last year and wants to continue the momentum in 2018. Netherlands welcomed 1,65,000 Indians in 2017, with India being the second fastest emerging market along with Brazil, witnessing a 31 per cent increase over 2017. Realising the potential, Netherlands has set a target to clock 25 per cent growth this year thereby reaching the figure of two lakh Indian arrivals. According to a survey by LinkedIn, famous social networking site dedicated to business and employment-related services, had revealed that Indian’s prefer being happy besides health and money. Netherlands records 17.6 million tourist arrivals
