Starting with Everest climbing the authorities plan to extend the activities without compromising on the health and safety aspects. The Government has opened 137 mountain peaks for foreigners desirous of obtaining Mountaineering Visa (‘MX’) for mountaineering and trekking. These peaks are located in the States of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Sikkim. While the highest number of 51 peaks have been opened to foreigners in Uttarakhand, 15 peaks of Jammu and Kashmir have also been included in the list. Adventure seekers of Jharkhand and the neighbouring states are going to have fun and adventure filled trips in various parts of the state next month. The state tourism department is all set to conduct adventure tourism events in various districts of Jharkhand from January 11 to 20. The state government of Tamil Nadu has banned trekking between February 15 and April 15 every year in the aftermath of the Kurangini forest fire, which killed almost twenty tourists earlier in March this year. The rules have been notified based on an expert committee report on the Kurangini fire. According to ‘Spatial and temporal analysis of decadal forest fire data (2006-2015)’ released by the Tamil Nadu Forest department, forest fires start in January, increase in February and reach its highest point during March. Uttarakhand has immense possibilities in yoga and adventure tourism activities, said Union Minister of State for tourism, K J Alphons. “Trekking, river rafting, water sports, paragliding, skiing and bungy jumping are some of the activities with immense potential,” he said while speaking on the sidelines of the Destination Uttarakhand Investors Summit-2018. However, in an exciting way to promote a route as a destination for tourists, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma embarked on a 9km trek on Tuesday from Chandigre village in West Garo Hills to Daribokgre village on the foothills of Nokrek in East Garo Hills. റാണിപുരം മലമുകളില്‍ പച്ചപ്പ് പടര്‍ന്നു. കാട്ടുതീ ഭയന്ന് നിര്‍ത്തിവച്ച ട്രക്കിങ് പുനരാരംഭിച്ചു. തമിഴ്‌നാട്ടിലെ തേനിയിലുണ്ടായ കാട്ടുതീയില്‍ നിരവധി പേര്‍ മരിച്ചതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് കേരളത്തിലെ ടൂറിസ്റ്റ് കേന്ദ്രത്തില്‍ ട്രക്കിങ് നിര്‍ത്തിവെച്ചത്. ഒരു മാസമായി റാണിപുരത്ത് സഞ്ചാരം തടഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. ഞായറാഴ്ച ട്രക്കിങ് ആരംഭിച്ച ദിവസം സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ തിരക്കുണ്ടായി. കനത്ത മഴയില്‍ റാണിപുരത്ത് പൂല്‍മേടുകളില്‍ പച്ചപ്പ് തുടുത്തതോടെയാണ് മാനിപുറത്തേക്ക് വനം വകുപ്പ് പ്രവേശനം അനുവദിച്ചത്. റാണിപുരത്ത് ആകര്‍ഷണിയമായ സ്ഥലം മാനിപുറമാണ്. വരും ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ തിരക്ക് വര്‍ധിക്കും. അവധിക്കാലമായതിനാല്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളും രക്ഷിതാക്കളും കൂട്ടത്തോടെ എത്തും. സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്ക് റാണിപുരത്ത് മുന്‍കാലങ്ങളിലെന്ന പോലെ പ്രവേശനം ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്ന് ഫോറസ്റ്റര്‍ എം മധുസുധനന്‍ അറിയിച്ചു.

റാണിപുരം വനമേഖലയിലെ വനപ്രവേശനത്തിനും ട്രെക്കിങ്ങിനും വനംവകുപ്പ് ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയ നിരോധനം നീക്കിയതായി പനത്തടി സെക്ഷന്‍ ഫോറസ്റ്റര്‍ കെ.മധുസൂദനന്‍ അറിയിച്ചു. ഞായറാഴ്ച മുതല്‍ റാണിപുരം സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്കായി തുറന്നുകൊടുക്കും. തേനിയിലുണ്ടായ കാട്ടുതീയുടെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില്‍ മാര്‍ച്ച് 13 മുതല്‍ റാണിപുരം വിനോദ സഞ്ചാരകേന്ദ്രം അടച്ചിട്ടിരുന്നു. മലയോരത്ത് കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ ലഭിച്ച മഴയില്‍ റാണിപുരം വനങ്ങളും പുല്‍മേടുകളും പച്ചപ്പണിഞ്ഞ സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍ കാട്ടുതീ ഭീഷണി നിലനില്‍ക്കുന്നില്ലെന്ന് വനംവകുപ്പ് കാഞ്ഞങ്ങാട് റേഞ്ച് ഓഫിസര്‍ സുധീര്‍ നെരോത്ത് ഉന്നതാധികാരികള്‍ക്കു നല്‍കിയ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് ഞായറാഴ്ച മുതല്‍ റാണിപുരം വനത്തിനകത്തേക്കുള്ള പ്രവേശനാനുമതിയായത്. കാട്ടുതീ ഭീഷണി ഇല്ലാത്ത സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍, കേരളത്തിലെ ഊട്ടിയെന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന റാണിപുരം സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്കായി തുറന്നുകൊടുക്കണമെന്ന് റാണിപുരം വനസംരക്ഷണ സമിതി വാര്‍ഷിക പൊതുയോഗവും അധികൃതരോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. നിരോധനം അറിയാതെ ദൂരസ്ഥലങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും നിരവധി പേരാണ് ഇപ്പോഴും റാണിപുരത്തെത്തുന്നത്.

റാണിപുരം വനമേഖലയിലുള്ള ട്രെക്കിങിന് നിലവിലുള്ള നിരോധനം നീക്കുന്നതിനായി സുരക്ഷാ പരിശോധന നടത്തി. കഴിഞ്ഞ കുറച്ച് ദിവസങ്ങളായി റാണിപുരം മേഖലയില്‍ ലഭിച്ച മഴയില്‍ പുല്‍മേടുകള്‍ പച്ചപ്പണിഞ്ഞു. കാട്ടുതീ ഉണ്ടാകാന്‍ സാധ്യതയില്ലെന്ന നിഗമനത്തിലാണ് മേലധികാരികള്‍ക്ക് സുരക്ഷാ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് നല്‍കാന്‍ വനംവകുപ്പ് ജില്ലാ അധികാരികള്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചത്. തേനിയിലുണ്ടായ കാട്ടുതീയുടെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില്‍ മാര്‍ച്ച് 12നാണ് വനംവകുപ്പ് കേരളത്തിലെ വനമേഖലകളില്‍ ട്രെക്കിങ് നിരോധനം ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയത്. എന്നാല്‍ നിരോധനമറിയാതെ ഇപ്പോഴും റാണിപുരത്തേക്ക് സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ ഒഴുക്ക് തുടരുന്നുണ്ട്. ദൂരസ്ഥലങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് ബസുകളിലും മറ്റുമായി നിരവധി പേരാണ് റാണിപുരത്തെത്തുന്നത്. വനംവകുപ്പിന്റെ സൈറ്റില്‍ നിരോധനം സംബന്ധിച്ച് അറിയിപ്പില്ലെന്നും സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ പറയുന്നു. സുരക്ഷ സംബന്ധിച്ച് കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ജില്ലാ ഫോറസ്റ്റ് ഓഫിസര്‍ റാണിപുരം സന്ദര്‍ശിച്ചിരുന്നു. പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച് ഒരു മാസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടും കേരളത്തിലെ വനമേഖലകളിലെ നിരോധനം പിന്‍വലിക്കാനുള്ള നടപടികളും ആയിട്ടില്ല. റാണിപുരത്ത് വേനലവധിക്കാലത്ത് ഒരു മാസം മുക്കാല്‍ ലക്ഷം മുതല്‍ ഒന്നേകാല്‍ ലക്ഷം വരെ ടിക്കറ്റിനത്തില്‍ വനംവകുപ്പിന് വരുമാനമുണ്ടാകാറുണ്ട്. വനത്തിലേക്കുള്ള പ്രവേശനവും ട്രെക്കിങ്ങും നിരോധിച്ചതോടെ ലക്ഷങ്ങളുടെ നഷ്ടമാണുണ്ടാകുന്നത്. ... ഉത്തരകാശിയിൽ ​​ട്രക്കിങ്ങിനു പോയി കുടുങ്ങിയ സംഘത്തെ ദുരന്ത നിവാരണ സേന രക്ഷിച്ചു. യൂത്ത്​ ഹോസ്​റ്റൽ അസോസിയേഷൻ ഓഫ്​ ഇന്ത്യയി​ലെ 30 അംഗങ്ങളാണ്​ ​ട്രക്കിങ്ങിനിടെ മഞ്ഞു വീഴ്​ചയിൽ കുടുങ്ങിയത്. ഉത്തരകാശിയിലെ ചായിൻഷീൽ ട്രാക്കിൽ നിന്നാണ്​ സംഘാംഗങ്ങളെ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തിയത്​. ​ പെട്ടെന്നുണ്ടായ കാലാവസ്​ഥാ വ്യതിയാനം മൂലം യാത്ര തുടരാനോ തിരിച്ചു ​വരാനോ കഴിയാതെ അംഗങ്ങൾ വഴിയിൽ കുടുങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു. ഈ മാസം 10ന്​ യാത്ര തുടങ്ങിയ സംഘം മൂന്ന്​ ​പോയിന്‍റുകൾ കീഴടക്കിയിരുന്നു. നാലാമത്തെ പോയിന്‍റ് ലക്ഷ്യം വെച്ച്​ നീങ്ങുന്നതിനിടെയാണ്​ യാത്ര തടസപ്പെട്ടത്​. പ്രദേശത്ത്​ ഉണ്ടായ ശക്​തമായ മഞ്ഞു വീഴ്​ചയാണ്​​ യാത്ര തടസപ്പെടാൻ ഇടയാക്കിയത്​. ഇതിനിടെ യാത്രികരിലൊരാൾ പ്രതികൂല കാലാവസ്​ഥ മൂലം മരിച്ചു. മുംബൈ സ്വദേശി സുമീത്​ കവിലാണ്​​ മരിച്ചത്​.
