Year 2018 witnessed around 65.2 million tourist arrivals in New York. It was acknowledged by the New York Tourism Board, stating that British people topped the list of foreign visitors. According to statistics, around 51.6 million domestic and 13.5 million foreign tourists visited the city last year, almost 3 per cent more than that of overseas visitors in 2017. United Airlines has submitted a formal application to the U S Department of Transportation (DOT) for authority to increase service between New York/Newark Liberty and Shanghai Pudong beginning in June 2020. The city tourism bureau of New York City & Company (NYC & Co) has published a new record of over 62.8 million tourist arrival in the state during 2017.
