National Highways Project worth Rs 1938 crore is coming up in West Bengal

A National Highways Project worth Rs 1938 crore is coming up in Jalpaiguri District of West Bengal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the four laning of the Falakata-Salsalabari section of NH -31 D in the northern part of West Bengal on 8th February 2019. This 41.7 km long section of National Highways falls in the Jalpaiguri district of the state. Long ride enthusiasts can have a really long road journey that crosses two countries.  A 1360 km long highway is coming up connection India, Myanmar and Thailand. India is undertaking construction of two sections of this Trilateral Highway in Myanmar, which include 120.74 km Kalewa-Yagyi road section and 69 bridges along with the approach road on the 149.70 km Tamu-Kyigone-Kalewa (TKK) road section. The works on both these sections were awarded on Engineering, Procurement and Construction mode in May 2018 for Kalewa-Yagyi section and November 2017 for the TKK section. Rs 3318 crores worth road projects coming up in Odisha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay foundation stone for three National Highway projects of nearly 200 kilo metre worth Rs 3,318 crore in Baripada in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on Saturday, 5th January 2019 The projects include four laning of Rimuli-Koida section of NH-215 (New NH-520), four laning of Koida-Rajamunda section of NH-215 (New NH-520), and four laning of Singara-Binjabahal section of NH-6 (New NH-49). Level Crossings on NH to be replaced by Over-bridges and Under-bridges 

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has envisaged a plan for replacement of all the level crossing on National Highways by Road Over-bridges (ROBs) or Road Under-bridges (RUBs). The works will be carried out under the ‘Setu Bharatam’ scheme, which include replacement, widening and strengthening of weak and narrow bridges to ensure safe and smooth flow of traffic and to reduce road fatalities by 50 per cent by 2020.
