Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for NH and Development works Namami Gange project at Haridwar in Uttarakhand today 21st February 2019. The Minister will lay the foundation stone for seven NH projects worth Rs 5,555 Crore. The central ministry is planning to set up a Ganga Exhibition and a Ganga Museum to showcase the history and mythology and the importance of the sacred river in the livelihood of the people living around it. It was announced by National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), as part of the Ganga Rejuvenation programme. The central museum will be set up in Delhi and there will be regional museums in different states. The Uttarakhand government is all set to launch a special bus services in 13 districts for tourists to enjoy vibrant Pahari folk arts and traditions and places of cultural attractions including castles, temples and archaeological sites dotting the picturesque Himalayan landscape. Tourism minister Satpal Maharaj said, “The local youth, who will be trained as guides, will explain the tourists about the locations as well the folklore associated with them. Moreover, the tourists will have a chance to experience the local culinary traditions and enjoy ‘Garhwali cuisines’, popular for their unique tastes”. Uttarakhand and Bali has entered into a deal to boost tourism, culture, e-governance, human resource, capacity building, environment and health. A five-point Letter of Intent to this effect was signed by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Governor of Bali I Made Mangku Pastika today. “With cooperation in field of tourism, culture, environment and health, Uttarakhand and the Indonesian province of Bali will come closer to each other.
