The Gangotri Temple is open, but not accessible to pilgrims

Gangotri, the oldest Himalayan temple in India, has been opened. The temple was closed due to the second wave of covid. The temple was opened on the third day of Akshaya Tritiya. The temple, which opened at 7.31 am, had only priests. Pilgrims are not allowed to enter the temple as the covid spread is severe. Gangotri is one of the temples of the Char Dham Yatra. Chardham is a pilgrimage site that visits the temples of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. Multi-crore highway and development projects coming up in Uttarakhand

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for NH and Development works Namami Gange project at Haridwar in Uttarakhand today 21st February 2019. The Minister will lay the foundation stone for seven NH projects worth Rs 5,555 Crore.
