The Gangotri Temple is open, but not accessible to pilgrims

Gangotri, the oldest Himalayan temple in India, has been opened. The temple was closed due to the second wave of covid. The temple was opened on the third day of Akshaya Tritiya. The temple, which opened at 7.31 am, had only priests. Pilgrims are not allowed to enter the temple as the covid spread is severe. Gangotri is one of the temples of the Char Dham Yatra. Chardham is a pilgrimage site that visits the temples of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. Hazara Rama Temple, Hampi The ‘Adopt A Heritage – Apni Dharohar, Apni Pehchaan’, scheme launched on 27th September, 2017 is a collaborative effort by Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), State/UTs Governments. The programme envisages development and maintenance of tourist amenities at heritage sites and making them tourist friendly, to enhance tourism potential and cultural importance in a planned and phased manner.
