The Gangotri Temple is open, but not accessible to pilgrims

Gangotri, the oldest Himalayan temple in India, has been opened. The temple was closed due to the second wave of covid. The temple was opened on the third day of Akshaya Tritiya. The temple, which opened at 7.31 am, had only priests. Pilgrims are not allowed to enter the temple as the covid spread is severe. Gangotri is one of the temples of the Char Dham Yatra. Indian Railways to connect Char Dham sites with new 327-km track

The Indian Railways is working on a much-awaited project to connect the Char Dham sites in Uttarakhand through a 327-km-long railway line, ANI has reported. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, taking to Twitter, announced that the Indian Railways is going to make the Char Dham Yatra easy for crores of devotees. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Railways is going to make the Char Dham Yatra easy for crores of devotees. Ancient Route to Char Dham to be Revived

The Char Dham are four places (Badrinath, Dwaraka, Puri and Rameswaram) which is considered to be the places which will help them attain nirvana.
