Chardham yatra to begin on Saturday

The Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand will begin on Saturday after its prolonged suspension due to COVID-19. A day after the Uttarakhand High Court vacated its stay on Chardham Yatra, the state government on Friday issued a detailed SOP to start the yatra from Saturday with strict adherence to COVID-19 norms. Imposing a daily limit on the number of pilgrims visiting the Himalayan temples, the SOP put a cap of 1,000 pilgrims daily on Badrinath, 800 on Kedarnath, 600 on Gangotri and 400 on Yamunotri. The divine doors of Chardham will be open for pilgrims soon

The four pilgrim destinations Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath in Uttarakhand, are collectively known as Chardham. Attracting more and more pilgrims each year, it has become one of the most important hubs of religious travel in Northern India. Uttarakhand calls for bloggers to promote tourism  

The Uttarakhand government has called for bloggers from allover the country to have a trip on ‘bloggers bus’ to four Cham Dham destinations. The bus which was flagged off from Rishikesh with eight passengers on Thursday, intends to promote the journey through blogs. The bloggers will also have the chance to cover the three-day Tehri Lake festival which commences on Friday. The first hop bus was flagged off from Rishikesh on May 16th. Ancient Route to Char Dham to be Revived

The Char Dham are four places (Badrinath, Dwaraka, Puri and Rameswaram) which is considered to be the places which will help them attain nirvana.
