Jordan tourism revenue up by 12.5%

According to the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ), the tourism revenues in 2017 increased by 12.5 per cent, up to $4.6 billion, compared to $4.1 billion in 2016. The report says that the increase was mainly due to an 8.7 per cent rise in the total number of tourists in 2017. Delta tightens rules for service & support animals

Delta Air Lines said it is tightening its rules for transporting service and support animals in an effort to reduce misbehaviour by dogs and other creatures that air carriers are required by law to allow on board. Service dogs are specially trained to aid people with disabilities. Delta carries nearly 250,000 service and support animals a year. From March 2018 onward, Delta would require documentation about such animals including its health, in some instances, a promise of good conduct. Jambojet launches Wajir flights

Jambojet is all set to start flights into Wajir, the capital and largest town in Wajir County. The maiden flight on the new route will take off from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on 14, February using one of their Bombardier Q400NextGen aircraft. Zambia’s Luambe is world’s most carbon neutral park

Luambe National Park, one of the oldest and smallest national parks in Zambia, is declared the most carbon neutral National Park in the world. The 254 km² park located on the eastern bank of the Luangwa, is awarded the most carbon neutral in the world by a USAID-funded Community Forests Program (CFP) implemented by BioCarbon Partners (BCP), in partnership with the Zambian Government. Scotland sets new record tourist visits

The new flight routes and favourable exchange rates are said to be the driving forces behind the increase in foreign tourist arrivals.
