Jordan resumes domestic flights

The King Hussein International Airport has resumed domestic flights between Aqaba and Amman after flights were shut down due to travel restrictions to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. General Manager of Aqaba Airports Company (AAC) Nasser Majali told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the airport’s preparedness was “completely in accordance with the requirements and approvals of the Jordan Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission”. Jordan’s tourism revenue increased by 8.6% hitting $3.2 billion within 7 months

Latest figures show that Jordan’s tourism saw an 8.6 per cent increase in revenue hitting $3.2 billion from around the world within 7 months of 2019 (January- July 2019). Tourism revenues in Jordan surpass $5 billion in 2018

Mount Nebo, Jordan The Jordan tourism revenues have surpassed the $5-billion mark in 2018, marking an 8 per cent increase from last year’s $4.6 billion, according to data released by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ). Mount Nebo, Jordan Tourism industry of Jordan is in a revival mode, after years of safety concerns due to regional instabilities. Jordan tourism organizes a cultural walk to mark World Tourism Day

Abdali, Jordan The Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) is organizing a cultural walk – ‘Walk Through Time’- on October 13 to commemorate World Tourism Day (WTD). People from the old Jabal Luweibdeh to the modern Abdali district will participate in the event. Jordan offers Visa on Arrival for Indian nationals

Jordan now offers ‘Visa on Arrival’ to Indian nationals at all border crossings valid for a period of 30 days. The only document they should possess is proof of onward journey or return ticket. If they wish to, Indians can also continue to receive visas directly through Jordanian diplomatic missions before they travel. Jordan boasts 21,000 archaeological and historical sites that span millennia. The Jordan Tourism Board, in partnership with Universes in Universe-Worlds of Art, has launched ‘Art Destination Jordan’, a website that gives a glimpse into both the modern and ancient art scene in Jordan, on the first day of ITB Berlin. Jordan tourism revenue up by 12.5%

According to the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ), the tourism revenues in 2017 increased by 12.5 per cent, up to $4.6 billion, compared to $4.1 billion in 2016. The report says that the increase was mainly due to an 8.7 per cent rise in the total number of tourists in 2017.
