IATA to support Bio-Fuels

The International Air Transport Association (IATA), as part of reducing the rising atmosphere pollution is about to promote the use of biofuel in flights by 2025. Biofuels are different from conventional fuels used on Jets. They are produced from the remains obtained after the decomposition of anaerobic bacteria on biological materials, which further constitute it as a source of renewable energy. “We want 1 billion passengers to have flown on a SAF-blend flight (sustainable aviation fuel) by 2025. The new version of the Airbus 350-900 XWB, completely engineered for long-range flight, has been rolled out from the Airbus factory in France. The new variant of Airbus 350-900 was exclusively ordered by Singapore airlines, that would be further used for a non-stop long-haul service between Singapore and America. Passenger traffic at Dubai Airport reaches 7.9 million in Jan

Passenger traffic at Dubai International (DXB) exceeded 7.9 million in January, according to the traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports. DXB welcomed a total of 7,960,146 passengers in January, a small reduction of 1 per cent compared to 8,037,008 recorded in January 2017 when passenger volumes were boosted due to Chinese New Year which fell in February this year. Chinese to come in droves with new air routes to PHL

New integrated terminal bldg in Guwahati

The Chief Minister of Assam Sarbanand Sonwal P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Ashok Gajapathi inaugurated the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Integrated Terminal Building at LGBI airport in Guwahati. “Guwahati, our jewel of pride in the North-East, is all set to emerge as an aviation hub, augmenting the much needed capacity in the region,” said Ashok Gajapathi after the foundation stone laying ceremony. The terminal consists of the departure lobby, waiting lounge, check-in counters and boarding lobby. “This new terminal building will further boost regional and South East Asian connectivity,” said Sarbanand.

Air India inducts brand new Boeing 777 for VVIP purposes

Air India celebrates the induction of its latest Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, which will be one of the two new planes to be used for VVIP purposes. The new aircraft is among the last three Boeing 777 aircraft remaining from an order of 68 Boeing aircraft placed by the Air India in 2006. The plane took off from Everett in Washington at 12 pm local time and landed in Delhi at 7.31 pm, completing its journey in a record 14 hours and 10 minutes. Fly Dubai adds new destinations to its network

Dubai’s most recognised airline service provider Fly Dubai has recently added two international destinations to their fleet. The newly added spots are from Thessaloniki in Greece and Aquaba in Jordan. The new flight schedules will come into effect in June 2018. Aqaba Port Aquaba, a city in Jordan, is unique for its coastal significance as well as historic importance. Emirates to launch non-stop Dubai-Newark service

Emirates to launch non-stop Dubai-Newark (Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)) service with a second daily flight from 1rst June 2018, adding to its existing daily flight which operates with a stop in Athens, Greece. The new non-stop service will be operated with an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER, offering 8 suites in First Class, 42 seats in Business, 306 in Economy Class, and 19 tonnes of belly-hold cargo capacity. Tatkal procedures made easy

A new government order has released with the updated, simplified procedures for availing tatkal passport. According to the order those who are above 18 years applying for tatkal passports should submit any two documents from the list including ration card, voters id, PAN, student id, driving license, birth certificate, passport, pension order, government employee id, along with the Aadhaar card. Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju today said the UDAN Phase 2 will connect 43 airports and helipads in the priority sector, the North-East and the hill states. The minister was speaking at the Award of Regional Connectivity Flights after Second round of Bidding under RCS Udan in New Delhi. Jazeera Airways eyes tie up with Kerala Tourism

Kuwait’s major low cost airline, Jazeera Airways, which has started its operation to Kochi, is said to be seeing the possibility of a tie-up with Kerala tourism. “There is a great opportunity for Kuwait and Kerala in the field of medical and leisure tourism.
