MoUs for tourism projects worth Rs 3000 crores signed for Uttarakhand

  Uttarakhand tourism to have tourism projects amounting to about Rs 3,600 crore, which will boost the tourism and hospitality industry of the state. MoUs for the projects were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Tourism and Culture Minister Satpal Maharaj on the Investors Meet held on 4th October 2018. Uttarakhand to provide basic amenities in Nelong Valley

Neelong Valley The Uttarakhand government has decided to build basic facilities like toilets, cafes etc in the Nelong Valley. The decision was followed by the discussion of the Tourism Minister with the Army Chief. Nelong Valley has been under the control of the army with restrictions for tourist engagements.  It is located just 45 KM from the Indo-China Border.   Tourism has been one of the major revenue earners of Uttarakhand, the northern state of India. Lesser known destinations to get a push in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Tourism Professional Association (UTPA), an association of professionals from the tourism and associated industries in Uttarakhand, has decided to identify lesser known destinations in the state. The UTPA is planning to promote and market those lesser known destinations to take the benefits of tourism to the state’s hinterland. The association feels that it would help in arresting the migration of people from rural areas to the big cities in search of livelihood. Uttarakhand calls for bloggers to promote tourism  

The Uttarakhand government has called for bloggers from allover the country to have a trip on ‘bloggers bus’ to four Cham Dham destinations. The bus which was flagged off from Rishikesh with eight passengers on Thursday, intends to promote the journey through blogs. The bloggers will also have the chance to cover the three-day Tehri Lake festival which commences on Friday. The first hop bus was flagged off from Rishikesh on May 16th. Uttarakhand banks on ‘Guru-shishya’ tradition to boost tourism culture

The Uttarakhand government is banking on the guru-shishya tradition practiced in the Himalayan region ages ago to revive its fast fading folk traditions. Uttarakhand cabinet follows unique way to endorse tourism

The Uttarakhand cabinet followed a unique way to promote its tourism, as they met for the first time in a floating restaurant on the charming Tehri Lake. The ministers headed by Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat met inside ‘Floating Marina’, the boat which served as the restaurant in the middle of the lake. The cabinet approved 12 decisions during the meeting which will enhance the state’s tourism and aid better use of natural resources. Uttarakhand receives global star award on tourism

Uttarakhand has received the Global Star award on tourism from the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu. The Joint Director Uttarakhand Tourism, Poonam Chand received the award at a programme held at Hotel Le Meridien in Delhi. Bali, Uttarakhand ink deal to boost tourism

Uttarakhand and Bali has entered into a deal to boost tourism, culture, e-governance, human resource, capacity building, environment and health. A five-point Letter of Intent to this effect was signed by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Governor of Bali I Made Mangku Pastika today. “With cooperation in field of tourism, culture, environment and health, Uttarakhand and the Indonesian province of Bali will come closer to each other. Asia’s biggest lake festival to be held at Uttarakhand in May

The much awaited 3-day water sports and cultural event, the Tehri Lake festival, is scheduled to be held from 25 to 27 May 2018. The lake festival, which is organized by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB), will have hosts of activities and events including water and aerial sports. Visitors can enjoy water sports such as boating, jet skiing, banana rides, water skiing, surfing, canoeing, river-rafting, paragliding, kayaking etc. Aerial sports such as paragliding, hot air balloon, para-jumping will also be part of the festival. Ancient Route to Char Dham to be Revived

The Char Dham are four places (Badrinath, Dwaraka, Puri and Rameswaram) which is considered to be the places which will help them attain nirvana.
