Gujarat to follow Kerala model for Ayurvedic tourism

The government of Gujarat is planning to promote Ayurvedic tourism, learnt from the success story of Kerala in the sector. A campaign launched by the Tourism Ministry promoted by Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachan, in this line was very promising. The government will start 10 wellness centers this year with a cost of Rs 5 crores. Ahmedabad Tourism shows 13% growth in tourist arrivals

The World Heritage Tag by UNESCO has helped Ahmedabad tourism industry to attract 13 per cent more foreign tourists during the period 2017-18. This was revealed in a report by Gujarat Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organisation Limited (GITCO) Foreign tourist who stayed overnight in Ahmedadab has shown a hike in 2017-18. It increased to 1,38,000 when compared to 1,22,000 of 2016-17. The growth is around 13 per cent. The number of domestic travellers also shows a rise during this period. The ‘Most Film Friendly’ state in India

State of Madhya Pradesh bagged the award for the Most Film Friendly State for its efforts towards easing filming in the State by creating a well-structured web site, film friendly infrastructure, offering incentives, maintaining databases, undertaking marketing and promotional initiatives. The Most Film Friendly State Award was announced today by the Chairman of the Jury, Ramesh Sippy. The Awards will be presented by Hon’ble President of India Ram Nath Kovind on May 3rd, 2018 during the presentation of the National Film Awards. മൃഗരാജന് ഇടമില്ലാതെ ഗിര്‍ വനം

ഏഷ്യയിലെ സിംഹങ്ങളുടെ അഭയകേന്ദ്രമായ ഗിര്‍ വനത്തില്‍ കാട്ടിലെ രാജാവിന് താമസിക്കാന്‍ ഇടമില്ല.സമീപവനങ്ങളിലേക്ക് പാലായനം ചെയ്യുന്ന സിംഹങ്ങള്‍ എത്തുന്നത് മരണക്കെണിയിലേക്കും. 92 എന്ന ശരാശരി കണക്കിലാണ് വര്‍ഷത്തില്‍ സിംഹങ്ങള്‍ കുറയുന്നതെന്ന് ഗുജറാത്ത് വനമന്ത്രി ഗണപത് വാസവ നിയമസഭയില്‍ അറിയിച്ചു. സിംഹങ്ങള്‍ മരണത്തില്‍ മൂന്നിലൊന്ന് മരണവും അസ്വഭാവിക മരണമാണ്. എണ്ണത്തിലെ വര്‍ധനമൂലം സമീപ വനമേഖലകളിലേക്ക് കുടിയേറുന്ന സിംഹങ്ങളുടെ സൈ്വരവിഹാരത്തിന് അഞ്ചു സംസ്ഥാനപാതകളും റെയില്‍പ്പാളങ്ങളും തടസ്സം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നു. തുറമുഖങ്ങളും സിമന്റ് നിര്‍മാണശാലകളും ചുണ്ണാമ്പുകല്ലുഖനികളും സംരക്ഷിതവനമേഖലയുടെ അതിര്‍ത്തിപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലായി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. തുര്‍ക്കി മുതല്‍ ഇന്ത്യ വരെ കാണപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ഏഷ്യന്‍ സിംഹം, ഇന്ന് അവശേഷിക്കുന്നത് ഗിര്‍ വനത്തില്‍ മാത്രമാണ്. 1882 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്ററുള്ള ഗിര്‍ ദേശീയോദ്യാനത്തിന് ഉള്‍ക്കൊള്ളാനാകുന്നത് പരമാവധി 300 സിംഹങ്ങളെയാണ്. ഏറ്റവുംപുതിയ കണക്കുപ്രകാരം സിംഹങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണം അഞ്ഞൂറിലധികവും.

4.6 magnitude quake shook Gujarat

An earthquake measuring over 4.6 magnitude was measured on the Richter scale, around 4.03 am today at Gujarat. Following the quake, a mild tremor was noted down in Hanjiyasar village of Rajkot district, with no reported casualties or damage. Meanwhile, on 10th March, an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 was noted in the parts of Kutch district with Bhachau city as the epicentre. Intense heat wave hits Gujarat, Met dept issues warning for next 2 days

Summer is just approaching, and the temperature has gone up to 40-43° Celsius in several cities of Gujarat. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) department has issued a warning for a heat wave that is expected to hit Gujarat over the next 48 hours. Several regions will be affected by loo. According to the Met department, temperatures in coastal Gujarat are likely to soar. On Monday, Porbandar was the hottest area with a temperature of 43° Celsius, followed by Surat with a temperature of 41° Celsius. Two people have died due to the intense heat in the state.
