‘Lokame Tharavadu’ (The World is One Family) art exhibition Launched in Alappuzha
Lokame Tharavadu (The World Is One Family) is a large-scale curated contemporary art exhibition of Malayali artists, organized by the Kochi Biennale Foundation. Over 260 artists will be exhibiting a collection of their works, to foreground each of their practices. Lokame Tharavadu is conceptualized as a congregation of the best of resident and Pravasi artists, in consonance with the Loka Kerala Sabha initiative of the government. Amaravathi model townships to come up in Kochi
The Amaravathi Township project Amaravathi model townships to come up in Kochi, said Kerala Finance Minister Thomas Issac during his Budget presentation today. Amaravathi Township, the main project of Urban Development Authority in Mangalagiri, was started with the vision of making the capital of Andhra Pradesh like Singapore. 10 Indian railway stations are going to be ‘smart’
Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has signed an MoU with National Building Construction Corporation Ltd on 30th June 2017 for redevelopment of 10 stations, viz. Tirupati, Delhi Sarai Rohilla, Nellore, Madgaon, Charbagh (Lucknow), Gomtinagar, Kota, Thane New, Ernakulam Jn. and Puducherry as a part of the SMART City project launched by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. This information was given by Rajen Gohain, Minister of State of Railways, in Lok Sabha on 19th December 2018, while answering a question related to it. Superfast AC ferry to connect Vaikom and Kochi from Nov 4
Kerala’s first air-conditioned and fastest ferry is all set to be launched by November 4 connecting the 35-km Vaikom-Ernakulam-Fort Kochi route. The ferry can accommodate 40 passengers in its AC cabin and 80 in the non-AC area. It is expected to complete the journey between Vaikom and Ernakulam Boat Jetty in 90 minutes, compared to the two hour via buses that ply between the two places. Cochin Port’s new cruise terminal to be ready by Feb 2020
Cochin Port’s new cruise terminal will come up at the Ernakulam Wharf by February 2020. The cruise terminal, to be built at a cost of Rs 25.72 crore, will have the facilities to handle 5,000 tourists. The 2,253-sq metre terminal will feature passenger and crew lounges, immigration counters, tourist information counter and duty free shopping. The estimated cost of construction of the terminal is Rs 25.72 crore and of this Rs 21.41 crore had been sanctioned as grant by the Union Tourism Ministry, said a release. ഒരു ദിവസം കൊണ്ട് ധനുഷ്കോടി ചുറ്റി വരാന് പുതിയ ട്രെയിന് സര്വീസ് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു. എറണാകുളം മുതല് രാമേശ്വരം വരെയാണ് പുതിയ ട്രെയിന്. ഒറ്റ ദിവസം അവധിയെടുത്ത് ധനുഷ്കോടി പോയി വരാമെന്ന തരത്തിലാണ് ട്രെയിന് സമയം ആസൂത്രണം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. ആഴ്ച്ചയില് ഒരു ദിവസം മാത്രമാണ് ട്രെയിന് സര്വീസ് നടത്തുക. ചൊവ്വഴ്ച്ച മുതല് ആണ് പ്രത്യേക തീവണ്ടി സര്വീസ് തുടങ്ങുന്നത്. വൈകുന്നേരം എറണാകുളത്ത് നിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുന്ന ട്രെയിന് 8.40ന് പാലക്കാട് എത്തിച്ചേരും.പാലക്കാട്ട് നിന്ന് വീണ്ടും യാത്രയാരംഭിക്കുന്ന ട്രെയിന് പുലര്ച്ച 7.10ന് രാമേശ്വരത്ത് എത്തിച്ചേരും. അന്നു രാത്രി പത്ത് മണിക്ക് തന്നെ ഇതേ ട്രെയിന് തിരിച്ച് യാത്ര തുടങ്ങും. രാവിലെ 8.30ന് പാലക്കാട് എത്തുന്ന വണ്ടി ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് 12.45ന് എറണാകുളത്ത് എത്തിച്ചേരും. ജൂണ് 26 വരെ ഈ സര്വീസ് തുടരുമെന്ന് റെയില് വേ അറിയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ലാഭകരമല്ലെങ്കില് സര്വീസ് നിര്ത്തിവെയ്ക്കുമെന്നും അധികൃതര് അറിയിച്ചു.
Ernakulam to be air-horn-free
Around 100 air horns fitted in inter-state heavy vehicles were removed in a joint vehicle check that was carried out by officials from the State Transport Authority and the District Police Office in the city. The department wants to ensure that the city becomes air-horn-free and has strengthened the vehicle check. “Over 100 air-horn pipes have been seized in less than 2 hours, with the majority of them being found in inter-state heavy vehicles,” said George Joseph, Motor Vehicle Inspector. ഈസ്റ്റര് തിരക്കില് ആശ്വാസമായി കെ എസ് ആര് ടി സി 24 ബസുകള് കൂടി അനുവദിച്ചു. നേരത്തെ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച 28 സ്പെഷ്യല് ബസുകള്ക്ക് പുറമെ 27 മുതല് 30 വരെ ബെംഗ്ളൂരുവില് നിന്ന് കോട്ടയം, എറണാകുളം, തൃശ്ശൂര്, കോഴിക്കോട്, കണ്ണൂര്, പയ്യന്നൂര്, ബത്തേരി എന്നിവടങ്ങളിലേക്കും 31 മുതല് ഏപ്രില് രണ്ടു വരെ നാട്ടില് നിന്ന് തിരികെയുമാണ് സ്പെഷ്യല് സര്വീസുകള് ഉണ്ടാവുക. നാലു ദിവസങ്ങളായി 52 സ്പെഷ്യല് ബസുകളാണ് കെ എസ് ആര് ടി സി ഇതുവരെ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചത്. തിരക്ക് കൂടുന്നത് അനുസരിച്ച് തൃശ്ശൂര് കോഴിക്കോട് ഭാഗങ്ങളിലേക്ക് അധിക സ്പെഷ്യല് അനുവദിക്കുമെന്ന് കെ എസ് ആര് ടി സി അധികൃതര് അറിയിച്ചു. ബുക്കിങ്ങ് ആരംഭിച്ച ടിക്കറ്റുകള് കെ എസ് ആര് ടി സി ഔദ്യോഗിക വെബ്സൈറ്റ് വഴിയും ബെംഗ്ലൂരു കൗണ്ടര് വഴിയും ലഭ്യമാണ്. നേരത്തെ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച് 28 സ്പെഷ്യല് ബസുകള്ക്ക് പുറമെയാണ് അധിക ബസുകള് കെ എസ് ആര് ടി സി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചത്. ... മൊബൈല് ഫോണില് സംസാരിച്ച് റോഡ് മുറിച്ചുകടക്കുന്നവര് ജാഗ്രത… മൊബൈല് ഫോണില് സംസാരിച്ച് റോഡ് മുറിച്ചു കടക്കുന്നവര്ക്കെതിരേ പെറ്റിക്കേസ് ചാര്ജ് ചെയ്യാന് എറണാകുളം റൂറല് ജില്ലാ പോലീസിന്റെ തീരുമാനം. ജില്ലാ റോഡ് സുരക്ഷ അപകട അവലോകന യോഗത്തിലാണ് തീരുമാനമായത്. വര്ധിച്ചു വരുന്ന റോഡപകടം കുറയ്ക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായാണ് ഈ നടപടി. വാഹന പരിശോധന കര്ശനമാക്കാനും ദേശീയപാതയുടെ ഓരങ്ങളില് പാര്ക്ക് ചെയ്യുന്ന വാഹനങ്ങള്ക്കെതിരേ നടപടി സ്വീകരിക്കാനും തീരുമാനമെടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. എല്ലാ മാസവും അപകട അവലോകന യോഗം ചേര്ന്ന് സ്ഥിതിഗതികള് വിലയിരുത്തും. യോഗത്തില് ആലുവ റൂറല് നര്ക്കോട്ടിക് സെല് എ എസ് പി സുജിത്ദാസ് അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു.
