Tripura to host 7th International Tourism Mart

Photo for representative purpose only Tripura will host three-day 7th International Tourism Mart from November 22. As many as 80 international tour operators from 21 countries including Bangladesh, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, China, Thailand, South Africa and Russia will attend the fair and engage in dialogue with the state tour operators, attend seminars and visit different tourist spots of the state. Airbus Bizlab to help set up innovation centre in Kerala

Airbus Bizlab India has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Kerala to help establish an aerospace-focused innovation centre in Thiruvananthapuram. This state-of-the-art centre will be the nodal body for planning and executing all the activities to help start-ups. The Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) is aimed at fostering and nurturing an enabling ecosystem for aviation startups in the state. Dubai expects steady growth in Indian tourists footfall

Dubai Tourism expects a steady growth of 13 to 15 per cent in Indian tourist visits in the state. New drug to treat travellers’ diarrhea

The U S Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has approved Aemcolo (rifamycin), an antibacterial drug indicated for the treatment of adult patients with travellers’ diarrhea caused by noninvasive strains of Escherichia coli (E. coli), not complicated by fever or blood in the stool. “Travellers’ diarrhea affects millions of people each year and having treatment options for this condition can help reduce symptoms of the condition,” said Edward Cox, M D, M P H, director of the Office of Antimicrobial Products in the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. Israel sets new record in inbound tourism

Israel Tourism has set a new record for tourist arrival in the current year. It was announced by the The Ministry of Tourism on Friday. 3.6 million tourists have visited Israel during the year 2017. This follows a record set in October 2018 for the most visitors and pilgrims to Israel in one month – nearly 500,000, which broke the previous all-time incoming tourism set in April 2018 by almost 20 per cent. Yogendra Tripathi joins Tourism Ministry as new Secretary

Yogendra Tripathi IAS In a reshuffle by the Government of India, Yogendra Tripathi has been appointed as the Secretary, Ministry of Tourism. Tripathi will replace Rashmi Verma. A 1985 Karnataka Cadre IAS, Tripathy has been Chairman & Managing Director of Food Corporation of India prior to his new appointment as Secretary Tourism. Prior to his position in the FCI, he has served as the Joint Secretary in the Department of School Education. He has also served at various levels of the government at the State, Karnataka, and in the Central departments during his more than three decade long career.

Bihar government plans a number of developmental programs in the Valmiki Nagar of West Champaran district to make it an eco-tourism destination.
