Chief Minister to open Kerala Travel Mart in Kochi

Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the 10th edition of Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) at Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty today (September 27) at 6 pm. Union Minister of State for Tourism K J Alphons will be the chief guest at the mart. Organised by KTM Society, in partnership with Kerala Tourism, the event has Malabar Tourism as its focal theme this edition. Kerala Travel Mart delegates likely to have a heli ride

Kerala tourism is planning to introduce ‘Heli Ride’ for the tourists coming on international cruise liners at the port of call. The discussions are on initial stage; however the authorities are likely launch it as a pilot programme at the forthcoming Kerala Travel Mart (KTM 2018) by offering the facility to the delegates. The programme should have approval from the Cochin Port and Navy and the discussion with the port officials are on by the tourism department and KTM organizers. 100 member Australian tourists team to visit Kerala to experience village life

While Kerala’s tourism sector is gaining momentum after the recent floods, more tourists from around the world has been arriving to the state to experience the God’s own country. Tour with Shailesh: Neelakurinji blooms in Kolukkumalai

Kolukkumalai is a tea plantation; spread across 500 acres and around 8000 feet high from sea level. It is said to be a plantation without pesticides and chemical application and the tea from Kolukkumail is said to be of high quality and taste. Celebi Airport Services wins ground handling services license of Kannur airport

Celebi Airport Services, a global service provider in ground handling services, has won the bid for the ground handling services of Kannur International Airport (KIAL). . This will be Celebi’s sixth airport in India including Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore, which they won in June 2018. The other airports they are handling the ground operations in India are Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Kochi. Kottoor elephant rehab centre gets Rs 113 crore makeover

With an aim to upgrade the elephant rehab centre at Kottoor in Thiruvananthapuram to international standards, the state Forest Department has inked an MoU with the Kerala State Housing Board. The project, to cost Rs 113 crore, is expected to be completed by October 2020. The project includes the construction of enclosures for keeping wild elephants in herds and in isolation, special care centre for the calves, ponds to harvest rainwater, veterinary hospital, office complex, training centre for the mahouts, elephant museum, biological park, accommodation for the staff and mahouts, ‘mess’ for the elephants, canteen for visitors, toilet block, modernisation of accommodation for ...
