Crowds to see Idukki; yesterday alone, 3,000 people visited the Idukki Dam

Tourist influx to the tourist destinations in Idukki district. In the last two days, more than double the number of people reached various centers in the Idukki district. Over 4,100 people visited the dam on Saturday and Sunday. Of these, 3,000 were visited on Sundays alone. On the day of Thiruvonam, 1750 people came to Rajamalai in Eravikulam National Park. Munnar, Vagamon, Thekkady, and Ramakkalmedu were also busy these days. The crisis-stricken tourism sector also got relief from the arrival of tourists. More tourists to Munnar: Large crowds are likely during the Onam holidays

The number of trips to Munnar during the holidays is increasing exponentially. Lots of visitors came on Saturdays and Sundays. More crowd was noted in Mattupetty, Kundala, Anairangal, and Echo Point under the Electricity Board. The number of tourists increased in Rajamalai and Flower Garden under the control of the Forest Department. The number of visitors from outside the state is low. But more people began to arrive from other districts. On Saturday alone, the Electricity Board received Rs 80,000 from Munnar. As more people arrived on Sunday, the revenue was Rs 150,000. KSRTC’s new venture; Tent camping facilities for tourists in Munnar

Tent camping and campfire is the latest project being prepared by KSRTC for tourists in Munnar. This is part of the goal of providing better accommodation at a lower cost. The tent facility will be set up at Eucalyptus Estate near Munnar old KSRTC depot and two tents and a campfire will be set up in the first phase. The tents are affordable for four people at Rs 200 per person, but if the two tents are rented together, it will cost Rs 700. Munnar Tourism on the rise as winter embraces the hill station

With the temperatures falling to around five degree Celsius, another winter season is getting a warm welcome at Munnar. The lowest temperature of so far this season was recorded last Sunday when the mercury slipped down to 6 degree Celsius at Mattupetty, Nallathanni, and Chokkanad while the remote tea plantation areas of Gundumalai , Thenmala, Chenduvarai, and Lakshmi it went down  4 degree Celsius. Varkala Beach Kerala voted the ‘most welcoming place in India’ as per a poll conducted by Booking.com. According to the 7th annual edition of the Guest Review Awards survey, five destinations from Kerala got place in the total 10 most visited places in India.
