KJ Alphons, Union Minister for Tourism has inaugurated the project ‘Development of Eco Circuit: Pathanamthitta – Gavi – Vagamon – Thekkady’ under the Swadesh Darshan scheme of Ministry of Tourism at Vagamon, Kerala on 17th February 2019. The 150-km long Gavi – Vagamon – Thekkadi tourism project, which was sanctioned in 2015, is all ready and will be inaugurated on February 17, 2019. “The work on the Gavi – Vagamon – Thekkadi tourism project has been completed at a cost of Rs 76.55 crore and its inauguration will be held on February 17. A project for a spiritual circuit connecting 133 shrines across the state will be launched on February 16,” said Union Minister for Tourism K J Alphons. വാഗമണ്ണിലെ വിനോദസഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രമായ ഉളുപ്പൂണിലേക്കുള്ള ഓഫ് റോഡ് ട്രെക്കിങ് വനം വകുപ്പ് നിരോധിച്ചു. വനമേഖലയും അതിനോട് ചേര്‍ന്ന് നില്‍ക്കുന്ന വെള്ളാരംക്കല്ല്, ടണല്‍, വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം തുടങ്ങിയ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്കുമുള്ള വാഹന സഞ്ചാരമാണ് നിര്‍ത്തിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.   ഇതോടെ ഡ്രൈവിങ് സാഹസികത തേടി ഹൈറേഞ്ചിലെത്തുന്ന സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ നിരാശയോടെ മടങ്ങേണ്ടി വരും. ദിവസേന നൂറുകണക്കിന് ആളുകളാണ് ഓഫ് റോഡ് െട്രക്കിങ് അനുഭവം ആസ്വദിക്കുന്നതിനായി വാഗമണ്ണില്‍ എത്തിയിരുന്നത്. നൂറോളം വാഹനങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ സര്‍വീസ് നടത്തിയിരുന്നു. ഓഫ് റോഡ് െട്രക്കിങ്ങിനെത്തുന്ന വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ സൈ്വരജീവിതത്തിനും സഞ്ചാര സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിനും തടസ്സമാകുന്നുവെന്നും വനം നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും കാണിച്ച് പ്രദേശവാസികളും ആദിവാസികളും അടങ്ങുന്ന 400 പേര്‍ ഒപ്പിട്ട പരാതി വനംവകുപ്പിന് ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു. വനംവകുപ്പ് നടത്തിയ അന്വേഷണത്തില്‍ ഇത് ബോധ്യമായതിനെത്തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് നടപടി. വാഹനം കയറ്റുന്നത് നിരോധിച്ചതായി ബോര്‍ഡുകള്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കാനാണ് വനംവകുപ്പ് നീക്കം. മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് ലംഘിച്ച് വാഹനം കയറ്റിയാല്‍ വനം നിയമപ്രകാരം നടപടിയുണ്ടാകുമെന്നും അറിയിപ്പുണ്ട്. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ വിനോദസഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളായ രാമക്കല്‍മേട്, സത്രം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ ഓഫ് റോഡ് ട്രെക്കിങ് നിരോധിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ... വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികളുടെ പറുദീസയായ വാഗമണ്ണില്‍ സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്കായി പുതിയ പദ്ധതികള്‍ ഒരുങ്ങുന്നു. കേരളത്തിലെത്തുന്ന സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ ഇഷ്ടതാവളമായ വാഗമണ്ണിലേക്ക് കൂടുതല്‍ സഞ്ചാരികളെ എത്തിക്കുകയെന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ ജില്ലാ ടൂറിസം പ്രമോഷന്‍ കൗണ്‍സിലിന്റെ (ഡിടിപിസി) നേതൃത്വത്തിലാണ് പുതിയ പദ്ധതികള്‍ക്കു തുടക്കമിടുന്നത്. മൊട്ടക്കുന്ന് നവീകരണം, വഴിയോര വിശ്രമകേന്ദ്രം, ഹെറിറ്റേജ് ബില്‍ഡിങ് എന്നിവയാണ് ഡിടിപിസിയുടെ മേല്‍നോട്ടത്തില്‍ മേയ് ആദ്യവാരത്തോടെ നിര്‍മാണം തുടങ്ങുന്ന പദ്ധതികള്‍. പുതിയ വിനോദസഞ്ചാര സീസണില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ സഞ്ചാരികളെ എത്തിക്കുകയെന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ പദ്ധതികളുടെ നിര്‍മാണം വേഗത്തിലാക്കാനാണ് ഡിടിപിസിയുടെ തീരുമാനം. ജില്ലയിലെത്തുന്ന സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ പ്രധാന വിനോദസഞ്ചാര മേഖലകളിലൊന്നാണ് വാഗമണ്‍. ഊഷ്മളമായ കാലാവസ്ഥ തന്നെയാണ് സഞ്ചാരികളെ ഇവിടേക്ക് ആകര്‍ഷിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ വര്‍ഷം ജനുവരി-ഫെബ്രുവരി മാസങ്ങളില്‍ ഡിടിപിസിയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ വാഗമണ്ണില്‍ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച ഇന്റര്‍നാഷനല്‍ പാരാഗ്ലൈഡിങ് ഫെസ്റ്റും സഞ്ചാരികളെ ഏറെ ആകര്‍ഷിച്ചിരുന്നു. സൈക്ലിങ്, ട്രെക്കിങ്, റോക്ക് ക്ലൈംപിങ് എന്നിവയ്ക്കുള്ള സൗകര്യംകൂടി വാഗമണ്ണില്‍ സജ്ജമായതോടെ ഇവിടേക്ക് അഡ്വഞ്ചര്‍ ടൂറിസത്തിന്റെ സാധ്യതകള്‍ തേടിയെത്തുന്ന സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തിലും വര്‍ധനയുണ്ടായി.
