Container Ship Caught fire at Lakshadweep

A containership owned and operated by Maersk international was caught on fire at the Arabian Sea near Lakshadweep. The fleet had an attendance of over 27 crew members with over 13 Indians on board. The news had been set out by an India Coast Guard, who has initiated the secondary rescue mission. The giant container ship named ‘Maersk Honam’ was affected by the tragic event, while en route to Suez from Singapore. India, all set to host this year’s World Environment Day on 5th June 2018. Abu Dhabi woes Kerala travellers

With an aim to familiarize Abu Dhabi tourism to the travel partners and tour planners in Kerala, the Department of Culture and Tourism has conducted a training workshop in Kerala’s capital city Thiruvananthapuram. The city of Sioux Falls in South Dakot is under a snow alert, which officially began at 5:30 a.m. today.   as Monday’s snow storm is cleared from the roads, and vehicles that are on the road at the wrong time could be ticketed or towed. Emirates unveils more spacious Business Class seats on its Boeing 777 aircraft

Emirates has unveiled a brand new Business Class cabin and configuration on its Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, with new wider seats laid out in a 2-2-2 configuration for the first time. The airline has invested over US$150 million to refurbish the 10 existing 777-200LR aircraft in its fleet. The newly refurbished Emirates 777-200LR aircraft is set in a two-class configuration which offers 38 Business Class seats and 264 seats in Economy Class. 120 Dublin flights cancelled

The travellers are in fury as Aer Lingus and Ryanair cancelled around 100 flights from Dublin Airport owing to the continued weather havoc in the region. Other airlines, including BA, KLM and Air France, have also cancelled flights, with almost 120 services cancelled in Dublin throughout the day. Dublin airport remains open and operational, but passengers can expect delays. “We are doing everything we can to re-accommodate affected customers and minimise disruption to their travel plans and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by these disruptions which are entirely outside of our control,” says Ryanair.

Avalanche at California ski resort leaves two injured

Two people were injured at Squaw Valley Ski Resort in California ski after an avalanche caught five people. One of them is seriously injured, report sates. Dozens of rescuers rushed to the scene Friday afternoon at  east of Sacramento. One man was hospitalized with a serious lower body injury, another person was treated and released and three people weren’t hurt. The resort has been closed. The avalanche occurred a day after a snowboarder died at the resort after a blizzard packing 150-mph winds hit the Sierra Nevada.

E-system to replace visa stickers in UAE

UAE residency visa stickers, which are placed on passport pages, would be replaced by a new electronic system, the Ministry of Interior said. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs had reportedly discussed the possibility during a meeting held in Ajman last week. The proposal comes in line with Vision 2021 and is indicative of a general migration to smart digital services that reduce paperwork, time and effort.
