Philippine Harvest promotes sustainable farm tourism

APTDC to set Guinness record by preparing longest ‘Pootharekulu’

Pootharakulu Sweet AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) is all set to prepare the largest ‘pootharekulu’, a traditional sweet from Andhra Pradesh, and set a Guinness record on Thursday. APTDC is hosting this event at the Berm Park, aiming spreading the name of the traditional sweet around the world.  The process of making the 10 meter Pootharekulu will start in the morning and go on till the evening. Indian Culinary Institute to be inaugurated on Aug 19

Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the Indian Culinary Institute on August 19 in Tirupati.  The construction of the Rs 98.6 crores ICI has been completed. Union Minister of Tourism K J Alphons will also participate in the programme. The State government has provided 14.21 acres of land for ICI near Tirupati Airport. A’Chai Bar’is coming up at Guwahati Tea Auction Centre

The tea lounge will have a tea restaurant which will offer teas like CTC, orthodox, second flush and specialty teas and various others. The lounge will be called ‘Chai Bar’. APTDC plans to promote ‘bongu biryani’ and ‘bongu chicken’

Food lovers will soon to have the spicy flavours for ‘bongu biriyani’ and ‘bongu chicken’ (dishes made in bamboo logs), in Kadapa and Tirupati. Uber Eats to deliver food at your doorstep

Uber Eats has launched its second service in Andhra Pradesh at Vijayawada on July 10. “Uber Eats service is launched in Vijayawada and consumers can order their favourite food by downloading the Uber Eats app on their mobile phones. Vijayawada marks the 18th city for Uber Eats since the launch in India in May 2017,” said Bhavik Rathod, Head of Uber Eats India. Emirates reverses decision, will serve ‘Hindu meal’ on flights

Following strong reaction and demand from the passengers to reverse the decision to take off ‘Hindu meal’ from its menu, Emirates has decided to reinstate the ‘Hindu meal option’ for its passengers. “Based on feedback from our customers, Emirates confirms we will continue to provide a ‘Hindu meal option’, to make it easier for our Hindu customers to identify and request this option. The decision to discontinue ‘Hindu meal option’ had created a stir on the social media with passengers calling for reversal of the decision by the airline. The yoga ambassadors were feasted on the massive sadya (traditional vegetarian meal of Kerala) meal in Thekkady at the Carmelia Haven hotel. The delegates were surprised an enthused by the potpourri of distinct flavours. The Sadya, prepared at the hotel, was a grand meal spread across on a banana leaf, with close to 24 traditional Kerala dishes.
