Tripura starts exporting ‘Queen’ pineapples to Dubai

Emiratis have started tasting Tripura’s ‘Queen’ variety of pineapples for the first time from this week onwards. The Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has flagged off a tonne consignment to Dubai this Sunday on a SpiceJet aircraft via New Delhi. SpiceJet has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government-run Tripura Horticulture Corp and a Kolkata-based company to facilitate the exports. Emirates has commenced its signature Ramadan service for customers during the holy month. Emirates’ Ramadan service consists of specially crafted iftar meals on board, relevant programming on its ice inflight entertainment system, and the distribution of dates and water on the ground for those breaking their fast. Emirates provides iftar boxes with a nutritional meal for customers breaking their fast on board. The boxes have been redesigned this year by local homeware specialists Silsal Design House. An artificial intelligence module has been developed by IRCTC to find anomalies in standard operating procedure using CCTV footage. With this module base Kitchens will be monitored pan India. Emirates has launched the Emirates Vintage Collection – a selection of fine wines from its cellar in Burgundy which have been stored for up to 15 years. The four wines to be included this year are the Château Cheval Blanc 2004, Château Haut Brion 2004, Château Mouton Rothschild 2001 and Château Margaux 1998. McDonald’s trying to ban plastic straws from UK restaurants

McDonald’s has decided to ban plastic straws in UK restaurants as a means to cut down on waste. McDonald’s UK announced that a small chunk of its 1,300 locations in Britain will be switching over to biodegradable paper straws in May, as part of a trial run.
