Yoga Ambassadors Tour (YAT) 2018, a specialist familiarization trip for practicing Yoga, which commenced on 13th June, was a visual treat for tourists across the world. Around 52 representatives from 22 countries were given first-hand experience of the picturesque state Kerala, located in the southernmost part of India. The 10-day tour was a conglomeration of yoga with sightseeing that gave delegates a unique experience of the state. In a way, it has enhanced the scope of Kerala as a global destination for yoga. The just-concluded Yoga Ambassadors Tour is forever going to remain etched in the hearts of many and is also considered one of the most successful events in the history of Kerala Tourism. 52 Yoga Ambassadors from 23 different countries, have toured the length and breadth of Kerala, from June 14 to June 21 to experience the possibilities of yoga in the state. It’s from her father that Salila Sukumaran started taking the basic lessons of yoga. First edition of YAT2018 concludes in Kochi

The first edition of Yoga Ambassadors Tour conducted in Kerala, which started on 14th June at Kovalam, has concluded in Kochi on 21st June 2018 – the International Yoga Day. The tour ended proclaiming Kerala to be the Yoga destination in the coming days. Mass yoga drill by foreign delegates on International Yoga Day

It was a distinctive experience for the participants and spectators, when people from 23 different countries performed ‘yoga asanas’ in harmony. Yoga experts from 23 different countries assembled to perform yoga in Kochi as part of the Yoga Ambassadors Tour, organized by Association of Tourism Trade Organizations India (ATTOI), in association with Kerala Tourism and Ayush Minstry. Apart from the foreign delegates, people from different parts of the state also participated in the mass yoga demonstration.

Muniyara dolmens steal the hearts of Yoga Ambassadors

On the seventh day of the Yoga Ambassadors Tour 2018, the yoga delegates visited Muniyara Dolmens after the regular morning yoga protocol. The jeep safari through the bumpy roads and the misty hills of Munnar was a new experience for the delegates. The dolmens in this region are called Valivadu or Muniyara. The Muniyara Dolmenoids are prehistoric dolmens, belonging to the Neolithic Age. Yoga ambassadors endorse the possibilities of Yoga tourism in Thekkady. Yoga exponents from 22 countries were gathered together in Thekkady as part of the Yoga Ambassadors Tour 2018, organized by Association of Tourism Trade Organization India (ATTOI), in association with Ministry of Ayush and Kerala Tourism. Yoga Ambassadors enjoy Kerala’s traditional vegetarian feast

The yoga ambassadors were feasted on the massive sadya (traditional vegetarian meal of Kerala) meal in Thekkady at the Carmelia Haven hotel. The delegates were surprised an enthused by the potpourri of distinct flavours. The Sadya, prepared at the hotel, was a grand meal spread across on a banana leaf, with close to 24 traditional Kerala dishes. The all-vegetarian meal is one of the highlights of the Malayali harvest festival Onam. The sadya included plain brown rice, with a range of pickles, pachadi, erissery, pulisherry, kalan, olan, aviyal, sambar, parippu, rasam, buttermilk, papad, jaggery coated bananas, banana chips and payasam. ... Yoga Tour draws global attention

Yoga Ambassadors Tour 2018, organized by Association of Tourism Trade Organizations India (ATTOI) draws global attention. Two crew from France-2 channel have reached Kerala to cover the event. The team include reporter Quesa and cameraman Giona. They have been filming the yoga practice of the delegates and interviewed some of them. The news of Yoga tour along with a documentary of Spice Routes will be broadcasted in September. The TV team will be in Kerala for six days. Yoga Ambassadors are all set to learn Kalaripayattu

The Yoga Ambassadors Tour have reached Thekkady on June 17 where they were greeted by the Thekkady Destination Promotion Council. The ambassadors received a very warm welcome and they were excited to pose pictures with the elephant who was brought to the hotel to welcome them. The delegates fed the elephant with plantains and also posed for pictures with it. Elissa Chrisson from Sydney and Chavda Ankur Ambarambhai from Singapore did a yoga demonstration for the TDPC officials and staff. House boat of ‘Spice Routs’ witnessed a varied birthday celebration in the backwaters of Kuttanad on 16th June. Nicole Rene’e Matthews, from Michigan was the birthday girl. Nicole was one of the delegates participating in the Yoga Ambassadors Tour 2018, organized by ATTOI (Association of Tourism Trade Operators India). Yoga Ambassadors experience ‘Yoga Sadya’ in Kerala houseboats

The third day of the Yoga Ambassadors Tour, organised by ATTOI, has also been special with the yoga sadya or satvic lunch offered for the yoga ambassadors at the houseboats in Kuttanad, the rice bowl of Kerala. The lunch was served after the team boarded the Spice Routes’ houseboats. Uday Samudra’s Satvic dinner is a hit among YAT delegates

By catering the indigenous tastes of Kerala, Hotel Uday Samudra, Kovalam, delighted the delegates of the Yoga Tour on the second day of the tour. The yogis were taking their dinner, after an eventful day in Kovalam and Kanyakumari. Muthirakkanji, drumstick leaves thoran, vazhachudu mezhukkupuratti, (dish made of plantain stem) pavakka varutharachath (bitter gourd dish) etc. were the main course of dinner.
