India, Vietnam seek to attract more tourists

Fifteen major tour-operators from India and 35 Vietnamese tour operators held meetings at a tourism promotion event in HCM City. The event, titled ’Visit Incredible India in 2019’, invited Vietnamese to experience Indian culture, cuisine, bountiful nature, and religious places. “Leaders of both countries have focused on strong tourism co-operation and people-to-people relations as a key element of our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” said K Srikar Reddy, the Indian consul general in the city. IndiGo to launch flights to China, Myanmar, Saudi and Vietnam

India’s budget carrier IndiGo is planning services to China, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Myanmar among other countries as part of its efforts to expand its international network. The carrier also has plans to start services to Turkey and Commonwealth of Independent States countries. IndiGo also plans to add frequencies in existing routes. IndiGo has also announced plans to fly from Pune to Male in Maldives soon, which is expected to start the service by the end of March. Vintage car show strengthen China-Vietnam ties

Hanoi province of Vietnam has hosted a vintage car show on Friday, exhibiting classic vehicles owned by Chinese people, which would help bolster multi-faceted cooperation between China and Vietnam, officials from the two countries said. Vietnam to host a Formula One race in 2020

In an effort to boost tourism in the country, Vietnam plans to host a Formula One race in 2020 in Hanoi. The race will be 5.565-kilometer street circuit and the event is expected to be in April 2020. It was announced by Vingroup JSC, who signed a multi-year deal to host the Grand Prix. With the event, Vietnam government envisions to woo more foreign tourists to the country to reduce its dependency on export to strengthen the economy. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Emirates Airlines of UAE has signed MoU with Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam to boost tourism and trade. A pair of giant hands lifts the ribbon-like Golden Bridge up in the air above Vietnam’s Trường Sơn Mountains. The Cau Vang (Golden Bridge) was opened to the public in early June 2018; since then it has been very inviting to visitors from both home and abroad. Vietnam extends visa waiver for UK, France travellers

From the beginning of July, citizens from the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy will get visa exemptions for the next three years, until June 30, 2021. Vietnam has first offered visa waivers for citizens from five European countries in July, 2015. The policy has been updated annually and would have expired at the end of June. Vietnam is among those countries which has strictest visa policy in Asia. The country currently offers visa waivers to visitors from 24 countries and territories, including the ASEAN member countries. Bikini Airlines to be launched in India

Vietjet Air, an international low-cost airline from Vietnam, is all about to launch their controversial ‘Bikini Airlines’ in India. Vietjet Air, headed by the CEO ‘Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao’ is the first woman billionaire in Vietnam. Vietnam – India direct flights soon

For the first time, India and Vietnam would be linked through direct flights by Vietjet by the third quarter of 2018. The announcement was made during the Vietnam – India Business Forum held recently. Vietjet will begin four-times-weekly services between Ho Chi Minh City and New Delhi on April 5. Travellers from India will be able to fly directly to Vietnam and vice versa, which is going to give a big boost to tourism activities between the two countries.
